ALT Anne's vegetable garden Overview of her main production from summer 2020 to spring 2021 Project background To learn the best practices in organic farming, my sister, Anne, went WWOOFing to Canada two years ago. When she returned, she was ready to start her own vegetable garden. First year production Most of her first year production consisted of apples (130 kg) and tomatoes (100 kg). The harvest of the other vegetables was about 10 kg each. Stock up on supplies She turned most of her apples and tomatoes into 70 liters (approx. 18 US gallons) of applesauce and 50 liters (approx. 13 US gallons) of tomato sauce. She was then able to enjoy her own production year-round with family and friends. A new challenge As part of her quest toward near self-sufficiency, she built a chicken coop this spring to take care of four lucky hens.
