A big thank you to @1m5project @InkryptFDN @_poetproject @SalamTalk @DNN_Blockchain for transforming the media landscape in response to some of the greatest challenges of our time, and promoting #FreeSpeech through decentralization. (Also ft. @jarroddicker)
"With censorship, manipulation and fake news making the headlines in mainstream media, #decentralized approaches are showing us new ways to organize power that may prevent these problems." - @inbari0 decentralize.today/decentral…
A very big problem and the blame finger can be exclusively pointed at the funding model of news coverage in the US. Why hold those people accountable that pay the bills?
There is a lot of coverage is corporations in U.S. media but most of it has to do with reporting mundane facts that will help rich people make more money. Very little is geared toward holding corporations accountable for their actions. It’s a big problem, IMO.

Can’t say we didn’t see this one coming. If the UK government hands over Julian to the US they’ll have blood on their hands. nytimes.com/2019/05/23/us/po…

I visited Julian #Assange in prison. He has been ill, but his courage is astonishing. He is locked up for up to 23 hours. Let no one doubt he is a political prisoner, fraudulent events in Sweden included. His crime is truthful journalism. Shame on those who feign otherwise.

Denzel Washington's quote about newspapers can be applied to all news media. Uninformed or misinformed. #FakeNews #journalism #Ethiopia
Our attention has become a commodity. News today is less about things that allow the reader to act, but instead works to cause readers to become passive observers, only to become less involved in the stories being reported. Reader participation is so overlooked.
The fourth estate needs you. Whether you're a journalist, reader, or news organization- it's time to put aside the political divide and work for truth. DNN is on the cusp of ushering in an era of collaborative and radically transparent news. Be the change dnn.media

So many untold stories go under the radar of mainstream media. Positioning local and inclusive news front and center is needed more than ever right now. It starts with opening up alternative funding and educating the public on the need to ensure that these stories are heard.
This is for you brother. Happy Birthday. ❤️ #Blackjournalistsmatter

A small piece of @DNN_Blockchain's proposition in action. If you think distributed networks and alternative censorship resistant currencies are not the solution to funding independent media, think again 🙌🏾 youtube.com/watch?v=622IShpn…

The paid people are usual introduced as “an MSNBC contributor” or a “CNN political analyst” whereas I am just Jay from NYU.

Recently I learned that many people believe if you appear on a TV news show as a guest, you are paid for your work. Not so. I have been on MSNBC, NBC, CNN, PBS, CBC, Al Jazeera and others and never made a dime. People with contracts to appear exclusively on one network are paid.

This man is a son, a father, a brother. He has won dozens of journalism awards. He's been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize every year since 2010. Powerful actors, including CIA, are engaged in a sophisticated effort to dehumanise, delegitimize and imprison him. #ProtectJulian

Ecuador should be ashamed of themselves for this. It’s a dark day for journalism.

Most consumers will prioritize usability over ideals. If you want your ideals adopted, build them natively into usable products.
