I'm not sure I've encountered a founder with more "founder-market" fit than @marcberte_ceo. Marc's whole career and life so clearly led him to be uniquely fit to bring this incredibly important technology to market right when it's finally possible to pursue.
Since @lizvstein and I invested three years ago, Marc and his team have executed in stealth with incredible focus. Today, they are finally pulling back the curtain.
Today I’m introducing Overview Energy after 3 years in stealth. We’re developing space energy for Earth using wide-beam, near-infrared lasers in GEO. Our satellites will beam energy to large solar projects on Earth, allowing them to generate power at night and turn solar into a reliable 24/7 resource.

When @anton_brevde and I first heard the Overview Energy story in 2022, we invested b/c we knew if anyone could credibly build Space Based Solar Power systems it was Marc. Excited the team is coming out of stealth today w/ flight demos to showcase the incredible engineering!

I love how chill Overview's launch video is. Lovely music, clear vision, behind the scenes on the airborne mission, and a noble aspiration.
Replying to @marcberte_
Last month, our team achieved a world first in power beaming: delivering energy from a moving aircraft at ~5 km altitude to solar panels on the ground. Here’s what it looked like ↓

In bonkers news, the absolute maniacs of @OverviewEnergy
just demo’d their space-energy-to-Earth tech stack by successfully beaming infrared power from a plane in the sky to a solar receiver on the ground. Solar power 24/7 from orbit is getting inevitabler and inevitabler.
