Hands Off Cheshire Home Land, Alli Warns Makinde Over Sale Of Public Assets to Private Developers
.Demands end to conversion of public properties for private development
The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation (SSACO) has warned Governor Seyi Makinde against any attempt to sell or allocate the land belonging to Cheshire Home in Eleyele, Ibadan to private property developers, describing the move as another disturbing development in the controversy surrounding the disposal of public assets under his administration.
The organisation expressed concern that the proposed disposal of the Cheshire Home landed property could follow what it described as a troubling pattern of transferring valuable public land and properties to private commercial interests.
In a statement by Bisi Oladele, Director of Media and Publicity, SSACO said the recurring controversies over the ownership, allocation and commercial development of public properties have raised fundamental questions about the Makinde administration's stewardship on assets belonging to the people of the state.
“Questions have continued to arise over the conversion of public assets to private commercial use. The reported plan involving Cheshire Home in Eleyele has further heightened concerns about the future of public properties in the state.
“Governor Makinde must understand that he is a temporary custodian of the people's commonwealth, not its absolute owner. Public assets are not personal possessions to be disposed of at the pleasure of any administration.
“These properties were acquired, developed or preserved over the years to serve the collective interests of the people. Their future must not be determined by commercial considerations alone, without transparency, public consultation and compelling justification.” The statement warned.
The organisation noted that public land in strategic locations across Ibadan and other parts of the state represents an invaluable inheritance that should be preserved for future generations, particularly as the state continues to experience rapid population growth and increasing demand for public infrastructure and social amenities.
It questioned the wisdom of disposing such assets when successive administrations would require land for schools, hospitals, recreational facilities, social welfare institutions and other essential public services.
“What will be left for future generations if every strategically located public property is converted into a private estate, shopping complex or commercial development?
“Government should be creating and expanding public infrastructure, not diminishing the stock of public assets inherited from previous administrations.
“Governor Makinde has a duty to preserve the assets of Oyo State for the benefit of its people. His administration must not leave behind a legacy of depleted public properties and unanswered questions over the management of the state's commonwealth.
“We therefore demand an immediate halt to any contemplated sale or allocation of Cheshire Home land to private developers and insist that all transactions involving public assets be subjected to the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
“Oyo State belongs to its people, and its collective inheritance must be protected,” the statement said.
Barely days after the Oyo House of Assembly approved N100bn loan, Governor Seyi Makinde splashes N20bn on cars for the 351 councilors in Oyo State.
THE TRUTH CANNOT BE HIDDEN AS SENATOR SHARAFADEEN ABIODUN ALLI IS VINDICATED FROM FALSE ALLEGATIONS BY BIMBO ADEKANBI ....
"Bi Iro ba lo ni Ogun Odun.... "
Forner Executive Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government, Hon Yinka Akinbode has exonerated Senator Alli from false allegations by Bimbo Adekanbi who doesn't have facts and figures of the land in question at Erumu in Egbeda LG...
I write this to put the record straight regarding your unfounded claim that Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli misappropriated funds meant for the purchase of hectares of land for his personal use during his tenure as Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government.
I am Yinka Akinbode, former Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government during the second term of our late, revered principal, Governor Abiola Ajimobi. Your claim is not only entirely untrue, but it also amounts to deliberate character assassination against Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli.
To set the facts straight:
Official Action & Inspection: During my tenure as Chairman, I personally treated the file regarding the said land located at Erumu in Egbeda Local Government. Not only did I review the file, but I also led a delegation of key local government officials—including the Head of Local Government Administration (HLA), Director of Finance, Director of Agriculture, and the Auditor—for an official on-the-spot assessment of the property.
Development Efforts:
I even directed the Council Engineer to clear the site with a bulldozer to prepare it for agricultural initiatives by youths who were interested in farming. These official records remain intact and are open for verification by anyone.
The Real Story: It was approximately two to three years ago that a local government chairman under the current administration of Governor Seyi Makinde subdivided the land into plots and sold them off. When I received the news that the land had been sold, I reached out to several past chairmen, including Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, Hon. Ademola Omotosho (APM), and Alh. Omilabu Gandi, to inform them. However, there was nothing any of them could do, as the current administration held the reins of power.
Mr. Bimbo Adekanbi, facts are sacred. I urge you to stop peddling falsehoods and desist from this fallacy immediately.
Signed:
Hon. Yinka Akinbode

Yesterday, I paid a surprise visit to our party members in Erunmu as they held their APC Ward 1 meeting in Egbeda Local Government.
I can see that Ward 1 is ready. Beyond that, our party’s performance in Erunmu has been phenomenal. The intervention on the Erunmu–Owobaale Road speaks for itself, and the people are happy.

“Clean Your Hands First”: Team Arapaja Slams Bimbo Adekanmbi Over Allegations, Questioning His Loyalty and Political Record
Team Arapaja, a political group loyal to the former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP and former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, has called on the electorate and residents of Oyo State to disregard recent claims made by the APM gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a press release signed by Comrade Ibrahim Sheriff, the group described Adekanmbi’s recent public statements as a web of falsehoods aimed purely at currying cheap political favour.
Team Arapaja urged voters to closely examine Adekanmbi’s past administrative record before taking his declarations seriously.
The group highlighted his contentious tenures as Acting Chairman of the Board of Internal Revenue and as Commissioner for Finance, alleging that staff under his leadership suffered widespread humiliation and mistreatment.
Furthermore, the statement referenced claims of financial impropriety during his time as Finance Commissioner, including allegations concerning ₦30 billion in local government funds—accusations the group claims Adekanmbi has yet to convincingly clear his name from.
Addressing Adekanmbi’s recent appearance on Fresh FM—where he accused the APC candidate of embezzling funds as former Ibadan North Local Government Chairman and claimed to hold damning evidence—Team Arapaja dismissed the claims as political mudslinging.
The group questioned why Adekanmbi failed to produce such evidence when Senator Sarafadeen Alli successfully contested elections in the past, including his victory in the 1996 senatorial election under UNPP and 2023 Oyo South Senatorial race.
Comparing Adekanmbi’s tactics to Governor Seyi Makinde’s 2023 debate performance—where Makinde made unsubstantiated claims against Senator Teslim Folarin—Team Arapaja warned voters to beware of politicians who throw serious accusations around without proof.
The statement also questioned Adekanmbi’s political allegiance, calling attention to his admission of associating with Governor Seyi Makinde for nearly seven years following the demise of his former boss, the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Team Arapaja asserted that this sudden shift was a defensive maneuver to shield himself from corruption inquiries directed at the Ajimobi administration.
Additionally, the group challenged Adekanmbi to address allegations that he leaked details regarding the Ajimobi family’s properties to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
"He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. "The Ajimobi family played a pivotal role in transitioning Adekanmbi from the private sector into public service. If he could betray his benefactor, can the people of Oyo State truly trust him with their future?" The group queried.
Concluding their statement, Team Arapaja urged the electorate to demand transparency and judge candidates strictly by their track record, integrity, and competence rather than empty promises. They challenged Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi to come forward and publicly respond to all allegations with facts rather than rhetoric.

PRESS STATEMENT
OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF APC
APC National Chairman Takes Two-Week Vacation to Rest, Re-strategise for 2027
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has commenced a two-week vacation outside of the country following an exceptionally demanding and eventful first year of his tenure as leader of the ruling party.
The vacation is a well-deserved period of rest and personal rejuvenation after months of intense party engagements, consultations, travels and strategic activities undertaken by the National Chairman in the course of repositioning and strengthening the APC.
Since assuming office, Professor Yilwatda has devoted himself to the task of building a stronger, more cohesive and electorally competitive party, working closely with the National Working Committee (NWC), governors, members of the National Assembly, state party structures, elected officials, stakeholders and millions of party members across the country.
Under his leadership, the APC has successfully organised and concluded its National Convention, strengthened its internal structures and successfully conducted its primary elections at the various levels in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
These achievements, coming within a relatively short period, have further consolidated the APC's position as Nigeria's leading political party and one of Africa's largest and most formidable political organisations.
Far from being a disengagement from party affairs, the vacation provides the National Chairman with an opportunity to step back briefly from the intensity of day-to-day activities, recharge and reflect on the enormous responsibilities ahead.
Professor Yilwatda will use the period to rest, retool and further sharpen his strategic thinking ahead of the 2027 general elections, which will be a defining moment for the APC and the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The National Chairman will also utilise the period of respite to reflect on the next phase of the party's development and put finishing touches to the design and planning of the forthcoming National Working Committee Retreat, which is expected to provide an important platform for the NWC to review the party's journey so far, identify emerging challenges and agree on strategies for the months ahead.
The retreat is expected to further strengthen coordination within the NWC and enhance the party's preparedness for the demanding electoral season ahead.
Professor Yilwatda's decision to take a brief vacation is therefore both timely and necessary, coming after a sustained period of exceptionally rigorous party activities. Leadership, especially at the level of a national political party, requires not only constant engagement but also periods of reflection, strategic assessment and renewal.
The APC National Chairman remains fully committed to the party and its objectives. His temporary absence from the country does not in any way affect the operations or functioning of the party, as the National Working Committee continues to discharge its responsibilities in accordance with the party's constitution and established procedures.
The National Chairman is expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the two-week vacation and resume his engagements with renewed energy and focus.

Abimbola Tooki

Yesterday, my running mate, Hon. Adesoji Michael Adedeji, and I joined the people of Oyo State at the unveiling of the AlliSoji2027 Door to Door Movement and Medical Outreach Programme, convened by Alhaji Semiu Kolawole Alebiosu.
What stood out for me was the combination of grassroots mobilisation and practical service to the people.
The medical outreach provided an opportunity for members of the community to access essential healthcare services, receive medical attention and have their health concerns attended to. This is the kind of people centred initiative that reminds us that leadership must go beyond words and reach people where they live.
The AlliSoji2027 Door to Door Movement will take our message of hope, progress, development and good governance directly to communities across Oyo State, one door at a time.
But as we take this journey to the grassroots, we must also continue to listen, understand the needs of our people and respond with initiatives that make a real difference in their lives.
I commend Alhaji Semiu Kolawole Alebiosu for bringing these two important initiatives together and appreciate everyone whose dedication made the programme possible.
This is what Oyo AHEAD looks like.
People reaching people.
Communities serving communities.
Healthcare reaching those who need it.
And a movement taking its message directly to the grassroots.
One door.
One community.
One person at a time.
Together, we are building an Oyo State where progress is not just promised, but experienced.
Oyo AHEAD.

It was a profound honour to pay a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, CFR, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Paying homage to such a distinguished custodian of Ibadan’s rich heritage was an opportunity to reflect on the enduring values of leadership, wisdom, culture and service. Our conversation also touched on the development of our communities and the collective responsibility to build a more peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria.
I have immense respect for the place of our traditional institutions in the Nigerian story. Beyond preserving our history and cultural identity, our traditional rulers continue to serve as bridges between generations and important voices for peace, stability and community development.
I sincerely appreciate His Imperial Majesty for the warmth with which I was received and for the wisdom and insights shared during the visit. It was a memorable engagement, and I left deeply enriched by the experience.

Today, I had the distinct honour of receiving the Award of Distinguished Leadership from the Society of Nigerian Theatre Artists (SONTA) at its 39th International Conference held at Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State.
I receive this recognition with profound gratitude and humility. Beyond the honour itself, I see it as a call to greater service and a reminder that leadership is ultimately measured by the value we create, the lives we touch and the contributions we make to society.
The Nigerian theatre and creative community occupies a special place in our national story. Through performance, scholarship and artistic expression, our theatre practitioners preserve our history, celebrate our culture, interrogate our society and give voice to the Nigerian experience. They are not merely entertainers; they are custodians of our collective memory and important ambassadors of our identity.
I sincerely thank SONTA for this honour and congratulate the Society on a successful 39th International Conference. I commend its leadership and members for their enduring commitment to the growth of theatre, the arts and Nigeria’s creative industry. This recognition inspires me to do even more in the service of our nation.
