SOMETHING WENT WRONG AT THE MOVIES.
"Background Noise," an offbeat journey into suburbia, obsession, and the movies, is available from @thealienbuddha at amazon.com/dp/B0HK9BNFQH
Some stories made noise in @MaudlinHouse @trampset @BottleRocketLit @litgarage01. Excerpts from work in @BulbRegion @DoricLiterary @HAWKEYE_mag
I first heard the term "background noise" when I was an extra on a film set for Schwarzenegger's "Last Action Hero" in '93. A cold winter night in Times Square. The stuff we do for the movies.
BACKGROUND NOISE by Peter DeMarco is now available!

Honored by this description from @DoricLiterary and @CourtlandAvenue. Take the whirlwind tour!
“Hold Still” by @PDMwriter is an evocative, whirlwind romp through 70s suburbia, written in a brash, unique, & compelling style. It has everything: thwarted love at the bowling alley, acting classes, a Trans Am, the Bronx Zoo, a disco brawl & so much more.

Thank you to everyone who read "Autopsy Report" and for the kind and touching comments. Honored to be in @EunoiaReview . Here it is one last time. I wonder how those spelling bee kids would handle the unpronounceable nomenclature!

Thank you to @EunoiaReview and @ianweiqiang for sharing this story of my mother's autopsy report.

The 1,000 word version was rejected six times. @FiveMinuteLit contest motivated me to pare it down to its 100 word essence.
"Takeoff" by @pdmwriter a retired NYC high school English teacher. His writing has appeared in The New York Times “Modern Love,” The Bulb Region, New World Writing, trampset, Bottle Rocket, BULL, Hawkeye & more. "Takeoff" won our INTERSECTIONS contest, judged by @tinaehsanipour
I won a micro contest! Thank you @FiveMinuteLit and @TinaEhsanipour! The intriguing story is why I was on that plane.

This story was a childhood tragedy I could never let go. After a rejection from @PitheadChapel I worked at finding the right balance between sensitivity and truthful introspection. A year later I resubmitted. Here's the result. Thank you @kimmagowan and Kate Gehan.

"[I] don’t trust him, she said, he kills things for a living now, got a pest control van, see, he’s still a bully [...]"
🚚 Don't miss Peter DeMarco's (@PDMwriter) breathless, one-sentence story, "The Good Guy," in The Bulb Region today.

Settle back in your favorite movie-watching chair and take a look at my new story "Blue Spruce" in the @litgarage01
What starts with old movies, diner coffee & a faded suburban theater slowly becomes something far more unsettling.
@PDMwriter has written a story that is suburban nostalgia, grief, obsession & something far darker simmering underneath.
