I have not done my research to double check that this is true. But I’m pretty sure that it is. And if it is, it should open the eyes 👀 of every single organization in major league, baseball, college baseball, and high school baseball. To me, this is a “great awakening “ to what so many of us know wins… but others have refused to acknowledge for so many years….
The Rays’ formula for winning baseball:
• MLB’s lowest strikeout rate (18.6%)
• AL-best batting average
• AL-best stolen base total
Now they’re AL champions and heading to the World Series.
They’re proof you don’t have to out-slug everyone to win. Put the ball in play, run the bases and make the other team defend.

I asked an MLB player what he wishes he knew earlier about hitting.
“Feel-good BP is backwards. You’re wanting to feel good when it doesn’t matter and you have a false sense of 'being ready'"
"Get your routine in. Then challenge yourself in the box every single day."
"Nobody’s ever gotten a hit that counts in a cage."
"All those barrels off a 47 mph fastball stay there. What comes with you is how you trained your eyes, your decisions, and your path at game speed.”
