"Quigley Down Under" was released on this day in 1990. Superb western by director Simon Wincer and screenwriter John Hill. Highlights: Terrific villain performance by Alan Rickman; wonderful cinematography by David Eggby; fantastic Basil Poledouris score. "Quigley Down Under" fired blanks at the box office and was considered a major disappointment. Luckily, the film later found a much bigger audience on home video and cable television.
