✨Just published in the first issue of the #JHVS: 3-year results of the AVIATOR REGISTRY🫀 including 2,206 patients with aortic valve regurgitation who underwent aortic valve intervention. Surgical repair was associated with better survival than valve replacement. AR ≥ grade 2 at discharge was more frequent in repair vs. replacement and was a strong predictor for reintervention.

🥊Just published in the first issue of #JHVS: Which is the best modality to assess bioprosthetic valve hemodynamic function and adjudicate valve dysfunction following transcatheter aortic valve replacement: Doppler echocardiography or invasive assessment by cardiac catheterization? In the pro-side article, Drs Rebecca T. Hahn and @TernacleJ explore the efficacy and necessity of using Doppler-echocardiography over invasive catheterization to diagnose bioprosthetic valve dysfunction (BVD) following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). In the con-side, Drs Houman Khalili and @amrabbasmd, argues that while echocardiography is commonly employed for evaluating bioprosthetic valves, it often presents limitations, particularly when it comes to isolated high gradients.
