Fantastic research being done across Europe looking at the potential impacts both positive and negative on biodiversity. We can't claim renewable energy will improve biodiversity in the local vicinity without appropriate baseline data to track changes over time.

Some fantastic work being done in #Guernsey and its a shame to #Jersey lagging behind. Although I am sure a Jersey state of Nature report will show very similar trends and data deficiencies.

So whole island gets a pay rise and then prices go up to accommodate and back to square 1?

Well, there we go the count down is apparently on. Funny enough it was 2 years out from the last election I was first asked to stand.
#Eurovision2024 starting off strong with some hybrid set from matrix, Tron and the trench run from a new hope. 🤷🏼♂️
Shame we don't have meaningful action plans or investment in local conservation efforts.

The new #anabat #ranger has arrived at our office. We will be putting it through its paces and seeing how well it holds up to its older brother the #anabatswift which has been our go to detector for reliability and battery life. 137 nights to beat. @TitleyScientif1

📢 Higher court issues final judgment in Germany: Old wind turbines must implement curtailment if there is evidence of bat casualties. That applies to more than 18,000 onshore turbines in 🇩🇪, which causes an estimated 250,000 killed🦇per year. Whole 🇪🇺 should follow!

Insectivorous bats strongly reduce their feeding flight behaviour in response to ground-mounted solar farms 🦇
Such decrease in feeding results in reduced habitat quality, which should be mitigated when solar energy projects are planned 📑
