A Hazardous Materials Warning is in effect for Sampson County, NC. A tanker truck carrying hazardous materials is on fire. Evacuations are taking place near where the fire is burning.
A +EAMT will extend the Pacific Jet and cause the EPO to head positive with a bit of a -TNH look over NA. The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is expected to go through phases 2/3, which favors +EPO as well. Transient cold shots from SPV disruption can be felt later in Nov.
Cyclone Murasu has just been named and is a cyclonic storm. Murasu is expected to become a severe cyclonic storm before making landfall in India. Flooding is the biggest concern from Murasu.

What an exceptional Pacific Tropical Cyclone season with El Niño helping to supercharge the entire basin. These are all of the hurricanes/typhoons that made it to category 3 or higher. This has been some awesome satellite imagery as well!
A +EAMT is going to develop next week and extend the Pacific Jet shortly thereafter. The EPO is additionally going to favor a positive phase with this extension. This can shunt the SPV disruption impacts for now, but watch for cold shots later in November from the disruption.
