my biggest problem with messiah was how absurdly heavy handed its themes can be at time, the book takes multiple breaks to just flat out say “government and religion should not mix.” I deeply apologize to Herbert, clearly you do actually need to spell it out for some people

Just rewatched Dune and MAN, I forgot how much of a drag Chani is. Just scene after scene of pouting and scowling while Paul unites her people and heroically leads them to victory over the outworlders that have plagued them for centuries. Truly the wettest of blankets.

We had two other live action batmans on screen the same year The Batman released.
f4 hype g@Fantastic4HypeG22h
You all won’t admit it, but I will. Matt Reeves hogging the Batman character and taking 7 years to release a fucking Batman movie is costing the DCU’s success It’s hard for general audiences to care about fucking Clayface when he can’t even fight Batman. Reeves is stingy af.

Gunn EU Elitist?
Variety
@Variety15h
James Gunn is defending the DCU and his decision to expand the universe with “individual stories”: “The DCU is just an alternate universe; we can enter at any location or time and tell THAT story. I dislike the idea that individual stories aren’t meaningful unless they lead to something else. People not understanding this is strange to me, because ‘Star Wars’ has essentially been doing this for 50 years across movies, shows, games and books, admittedly without the tonal variety." variety.com/2026/film/news/j…

I would rather see Clayface than Doomsday. Time to boycott Marvel for the ensuing culture war bullshit.

DC having more in common with Dune. Clayface is a face dancer.

The release of Dune 2 was so pure… an entire timeline of people basking in the quality of a film, sharing their love of a piece of art. It is hilariously unfortunate that we are forced to experience dune 3 alongside people treating this event like shareholders.
