Put together a few thoughts about what happened on Sunday. I'll be thinking about it for a long time to come. One of those surreal and glorious experiences that you don't ever think will happen to you. St Patrick's Cullyhanna- All Ireland Intermediate Football Champions 2024

Nonsense, Chris. Thousands turning out at these events. Would never get anywhere without such a system. Jack Carney did eight hours today after a full game yesterday. I'd say he smiled for 3-4,000 photos. If they had allowed free rein, half those fans wouldn't have got near Sam

People in high-profile roles sometimes merit criticism, be they celebrities, educators, sport stars, politicians
But modern-day pile-ons are a horrible kind of savagery

Liam Rushe is very strong on the players stance on the split season.
When will (some) media and supporters stop thinking of themselves and listen to the players.

This is why I still think it was a little sneaky to withdraw the motion (trying to extend the i/c season) without a vote last time out. If it had been slapped down (as was inevitable), this discussion would have nowhere to go. Actual GAA members couldn't be more clear on this.

GAA draw Kerry and Dublin against each other, everyone shouts fix.
GAA keep Kerry and Dublin apart, everyone shouts fix.
I know this is a mad idea but maybe it’s…just the draw?

Finally, nothing in the GAA is more boring than referee discourse. The same tedious conversation every time, ignoring the long list of other reasons teams actually lose

CLG Watty Graham wishes to highlight its concerns regarding the potential long-term impact of the proposed extension to the intercounty season. 99% of scientists agree that humans have contributed to global warming yet @GBNEWS continues to platform fossil fuel funded climate change deniers from the President down. The world is not cooling and China is actually doing more than most countries to switch to renewable energy.
🚨🌎 “The Whole thing is a Hoax”
“They started calling it global warming then it got cooler now they call it climate change because they can’t lose that way”
“ The UK is one of the worst in the world they believe this nonsense this fiction”
“Look at China they sell Wind turbines but don’t use themselves”

A lot of angst on this, but if you compared all the talented young players that have been lost to the AFL with all the talented players that have left because Ireland makes it incredibly hard for young people to get started in life, I know which group would be larger.
