Most of what's inside Ult doesn't run on @CronosNetwork, so the old name told traders the wrong thing of what's available in the app to trade.
(2) The first of more tokenomics discussions to come, starting with two proposals. 100% of Ult and Cronos Launch revenue goes toward buying and burning crypto-com-chain:native, and the community burn gets automated. This is just a start.

What I found in the Cronos and Trump Media documents deserves a closer look...
In 2021, Crypto.com celebrated burning 70 billion CRO. It called this the “largest token burn in history” and described the network as fully decentralised.
In March 2025, Cronos proposed creating 70 billion CRO again, bringing the supply back to 100 billion. This time, the justification was ETFs, AI, institutional adoption and US expansion. Cronos explicitly called it a reversal of the original burn.
Holders were entitled to ask why removing those tokens was celebrated, then recreating them was presented as progress.

The proposed reserve came with a 5-year lockup narrative, stretched to 10 years by counting time since the original issuance.
The actual proposed schedule released approximately 1.167 billion CRO every month over 5 years.
Vesting started with the upgrade. Monthly releases were publicly disclosed, including in the blog. Anyone interpreting this as 5 years without tokens becoming available had misunderstood the terms.

On August 26, 2025, Crypto.com, Trump Media and Yorkville announced a $6.42 billion CRO treasury plan. Here is what that figure contained:
- $1 billion in CRO
- $200 million in cash
- $220 million from mandatory warrant exercises
- $5 billion through an equity financing facility
Approximately 78% of the headline figure was that financing facility. The package was conditional. $6.42 billion had not already been spent buying CRO.
The announcement disclosed this. Turning the entire headline into a claim of completed buying pressure would be bullshit.

A separate deal did close that day.
Trump Media transferred $50 million in cash and 2,797,985 DJT shares to Foris Holdings US, the Crypto.com entity.
In exchange, it received 684,427,004 CRO, valued at approximately $105 million. This was a private transaction with Foris. Ordinary CRO holders were not the sellers in that agreement.
The press release also gives a different quantity: 685,427,004 CRO. The signed agreement says 684,427,004 CRO. That 1 million CRO discrepancy already existed in the original documents. It warrants clarification, but does not establish missing tokens.

On August 7, 2026, the companies announced that the proposed treasury business combination was being terminated.
They cited market conditions and changing priorities. Their announcement did not say the separate, completed CRO purchase was being reversed.

What the documents establish is worth discussing: a celebrated burn followed by a proposal to recreate the supply, a conditional $6.42 billion treasury plan that was cancelled, and a separate completed transaction that delivered cash and DJT shares to Foris.
Doing business with an autocrat’s media company is a political choice, and CRO holders have every right to question it.
Foris received cash and DJT shares. Trump Media received CRO. That gives the companies concrete financial interests in each other.
Crypto.com should explain how this serves the decentralisation it once celebrated.
I have no patience for an industry that sells independence to ordinary people while treating proximity to powerful political families as its greatest fucking achievement.
