This is astonishing from transcript. It brings the Judiciary into disrepute and no wonder trust in the CJS is tanking. If young people who commit heinous premeditated violent crimes face no meaningful punishment, what message does that send to them, peers, victims, public? 👇
NEW Why did a judge impose a community sentence on a 14-year-old boy who stabbed a girl ten times in a terrifying, premeditated attack? Footage shows him chasing her around a store in Cirencester, where he also stabbed a shopkeeper.
Finally, after 5 weeks, I’ve been sent transcripts of the court proceedings.
* It’s clear the judge’s priority was the boy’s “rehabilitation” & managing future risk.
* The judge did not appear to consider the need for deterrence or punishment.
* The judge was “deeply unhappy…astonished” the boy had been held in a secure children’s unit for 3 months after admitting guilt & released him on bail.
* When bailed the boy did not return home until early hours when meant to be under curfew & so couldn’t be tagged straight away
* A youth offending team officer expressed concerns about the eventual sentence - a referral order - because it doesn’t include tagging/curfew requirements
* Court heard about boy’s interest in disturbing films, his unpredictability & how he “craved” custody
All in all, what emerges is a far from satisfactory sentencing process, containing some rather flippant remarks from a judge who appeared determined to avoid imposing custody from the outset.

I really want videos like this to reach @bphillipsonMP because we need our legislators to see that these predatory men fetishize women's vulnerability. They make fantasies out of our pain and fear. They are not victims, they are red flags with boners & lippy.

No. The British people do not want Gazan students.
Most, if not all, will have been taught to hate Jews since the crib.
We have a crisis of antisemitism - we should not be endangering more British Jews.
🚨#BREAKING:
The British government announces it will start issuing expedited visas to Gazan students so they can move to the UK & study at British Universities.
The UK will also "establish a permanent framework for more refugee students to come study in the UK"

The girls came home from the hospital over the weekend.
I have spent the last few days nonstop changing nappies, washing bottles, feeding both every two hours, and doing almost nothing else.
Having children is hard work. Even harder with two. You're up all night if they don't settle, trying to decipher what they're crying about while being desperate to stop it. You don't have enough hands. Sleep deprivation saps your legs of all strength. It's impossible to maintain a routine when they cluster feed.
It's insane that we expect women to juggle a job alongside this, or surrender their children to daycare after a few weeks to go back to work.
Hence why I haven't posted much recently. I'll try to get some video content out in the next few days, when I get a spare few hours to record and edit it. Otherwise, expect my output to drop for a week or two, as I adjust to the cumulative hours that caring for my wife and daughters takes each day.
Thanks to everyone who sent their advice, well wishes, and gifts across various platforms — including Shannon, who knitted these hats and sent them all the way from Australia.

🚨Judge (Ian Lawrie KC) calls a 14-year-old who stabbed a girl ten times with a kitchen knife a “bright lad” and keeps him out of custody because prison is “the last place” for him.
This is how boys learn that rejecting them is a crime she will pay for, and he won’t - because that's exactly what happened.

The electorate aren’t goldfish. Our memories are long enough to recall June 2024, when you declared that trans-identified men with penises should be able to use women’s public bathrooms. It took a Supreme Court ruling to force you to uphold women’s rights, and now you pose as our bold champion? Please.
The time for talk has long passed. This government is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to supporting women and girls.
We'll back practical action to confine misogyny to the history books - in public services, workplaces, and online.

Miller v Chief Constable @LincsPolice
As a serving officer with access to police databases, PC Watson stalked me and my family for 18 months.
When he was sacked for dishonesty and gross misconduct by Leicestershire, he complained to Lincolnshire Police.
Detectives believed him, and recorded me as the criminal and him as the victim.
These facts are uncontested. All sides agree.
The question is: Was this lawful?

ARE WE WATCHING BRITAIN’S PAEDOPHILE GROOMING-GANG SCANDAL UNFOLD IN IRELAND — WITH THE VICTIMS BEING CHILDREN IN TUSLA CARE?
In an opinion piece in today’s Irish Mail, Brenda Power warns of a shocking child-safety scandal involving vulnerable children in State care being targeted by sexual predators while the authorities responsible for protecting them struggle to keep them safe.
Under the headline “Grooming gangs are the real threat, not grannies”, Power focuses on three cases involving teenagers in State care which recently came before High Court judge Mr Justice John Jordan. So concerned was the judge that he directed details to Children Minister Norma Foley, Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan and Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers.
One case concerns a 14-year-old girl who, Power writes, was being preyed upon by organised paedophile gangs. The teenager, from a deeply troubled background, reportedly believed the men exploiting her genuinely cared about her.
Despite suffering physical symptoms associated with sexual activity with numerous men, the child was unable to recognise herself as a victim. Power argues that this illustrates the sinister nature of grooming: vulnerable children can be manipulated into interpreting exploitation as love and affection.
A second teenage girl in Tusla care was also reported as being sexually exploited by a large number of men.
The third case concerned a 16-year-old boy involved with an older criminal gang whom he regarded as friends and supporters. Gardaí had seized thousands of euro worth of drugs from him.
Power links the cases to the shortage of special-care accommodation. Despite 26 designated beds, only 15 were available. But she argues that the debate must go much further than beds.
The fundamental question is: who is sexually exploiting these children and what is being done to identify, investigate and prosecute them?
Power draws a disturbing comparison with Britain’s grooming-gang scandals, where vulnerable girls, particularly children in care, were systematically targeted by groups of men. She argues Ireland should learn from what happened there rather than wait for a comparable scandal to become fully exposed here.
She cites Irish Mail on Sunday reporting that organised criminal groups are exploiting the State’s inability to keep vulnerable children safe. Perpetrators allegedly contact children online, obtain information about residential care facilities and arrange meetings away from their placements.
Power describes children initially being offered attention, affection, money, drugs or alcohol before being passed between perpetrators and subjected to increasingly serious sexual exploitation. What may appear to be children voluntarily meeting adults can instead involve grooming, manipulation and coercion.
She strongly rejects any suggestion that children can meaningfully consent to their own exploitation. They must be recognised as victims rather than having their behaviour treated as the problem.
Power also questions whether Ireland’s in-camera rule, while essential for protecting children’s privacy, can prevent proper public scrutiny of organised exploitation.
Her broader argument is that the State risks concentrating on containing vulnerable children through secure beds and residential placements while insufficient attention is directed towards the adults allegedly exploiting them.
Ireland, Power argues, must confront the possibility that organised grooming and sexual exploitation of children in State care is already occurring here.
Her central message is stark: the vulnerable children are not the threat from which society needs protection; the adults grooming and exploiting them are.

Note to all Judges: Stabbing a girl 10 times is not ‘mischief’. It’s serious violence. (We should not have to point this out).
Yet another case where a Judge is apparently more focused on the wellbeing of the violent male youth, than the brutalised girl. We agree with her mother. This derisory sentence is indeed disgraceful.
Q. What sort of message does this send out to young girls- and for that matter, young boys too?
A. That young girls matter less than young boys. Even stabbed young girls.
