I’m honoured to have driven a few Electric Vehicles available in South Africa over the past few years.
So, I’ve listed my reviews of them here.
A thread 🧵
It's finally time to put my Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to rest, and make way for the original and world's lightest foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold8.
I'll update you how my time with it goes!

The rear of this Leapmotor B10 REEV reminds me of the Porsche Macan and Cayenne so much 🤭
That doesn't take away that the B10 is a great car. Pricing starts from R499 900. It has a 1.5l petrol engine (158kW/240Nm) which powers the rear mounted electric motor. Its loaded with tech, is super comfortable and smooth on a straight line.
I haven’t seen the new Mercedes-Benz CLA on our roads. I wanted to see what it has to offer, so @BidvestMcMerc graciously lent us theirs.
It’s an incredible product. But that R930k base price tag and lack of market visibility isn’t doing it any favours.
You already know the Volkswagen T-Roc, now it’s cheekier and bolder than ever with massive updates for 2026. I got to drive it in Cape Town, and here’s what stands out for me:
- Progressive exterior design language; Sculptured surfaces and a wider-looking stance.
- Illuminated Volkswagen logo and a continuous light strip (front and rear).
- Theee derivatives: Life, R-Line and R-Line Black Style.
- 10.3 or 12.9-inch infotainment system and a Digital Cockpit.
- 19-inch York Aero alloy wheels as seen here.
- 1.4 TSI 110kW/250Nm engine mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission.

The floor size of a typical Mercedes-Benz dealership in South Africa is decreasing. Making space for a Chinese brand to help pay the rent.
I am in Cape Town today with Audi South Africa to experience the new Q5 range. I spent much of my day behind the wheel of the SQ5 Sportback Black Edition (Starts at R1.6M) in this beautiful Sakhir Gold colour.
Its one my favourites already and is powered by a 3.0l V6 engine (270kw/500Nm) which is sublime on the open road.
I'd definitely buy one. Would you?
Like, ha re bueng nnete. Why would you even need a car with thrusters? Back flips on the N1 for what?!
I don’t know what’s happening at Woolworths but they need to get their act together.
If it’s not expired food, they’re always out of stock. What kind of business is being run here.
