It's time we give less emphasis to how stupid these people supposedly are, and more attention to how vicious and relentless and uncompromising they are. -MP

. @united failing at the absolute basics this morning. They still have SFO listed as the destination on the gate marquee for a flight heading to ORD. The ticket they emailed me has no seat assignment or boarding group number so I'll just be taking my best guess at when to board!
Digger reminds me a lot of "Under the Silver Lake." Tempting to believe that it's Hollywood coming clean, when really it's just putting one more meta plank in its own edifice. (None of which is to say it isn't a great movie.)
Hollywood & Counterfeit Conspiracy Culture. My take on the revelation of the revelation of the method in the soon-to-be-cult classic, "Under the Silver Lake." youtu.be/cgY8KJxH2sA @silverlakemov
Thinking "the Boomers" are the cause of everything wrong with the economy is quickly starting to sound just as stupid to me as thinking the problem is 175 million criminal illegal aliens.
Anything less than orienting your entire life around reducing the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 is ableist. If you're not a hermit ordering DoorDash and spraying your living spaces with disinfectant every hour you are doing eugenics.
Vibe coded a ~200 line diff with Claude today and then had to spend 90 minutes getting it to fix a bunch of blunders I could only spot because of my experience coding by hand. Maybe that all gets folded into training models to do better but for now they still create a lot of junk
As a 43 y/o who witnessed both, the entry-level job market is *far* worse in the 2020s than it was in the GFC. With the GFC there were at most 2 really bad years before the stimulus rebooted things. With the 2020s we're on year 5 of the Fed choking the life out of the labor mkt.
Feels like I see bangers with 20K+ likes from noided mutuals way more often these days. Unfortunately just gives me the sense that everything happening on here is now so thoroughly inconsequential they don't even need to hide us in the corner like they did back in the COVID days.
All these new AI art tools and still no one holds a candle to Post-America, who poured her soul into the craft and spoke to anyone trying to leave space for hope amidst a true understanding of the world and how it works. RIP to the greatest to do it.
