More than 32,500 trees may have already been felled in Karjat to build resorts and bungalows. No one complained then.
According to reports, approx 32,490 trees have been ordered to be felled in Karjat, Maharashtra, for Torrent Power’s Saidongar-1 pumped-storage project. Let that number sink in! We are destroying forests that took generations to grow, threaten the homes of countless living beings, and then have the audacity to call it development. The arrogance of believing that everything on this planet exists for human convenience is frightening. We're already witnessing unbearable heat, droughts, water scarcity, disappearing wildlife and a planet struggling to survive. Yet human greed knows absolutely no limits! We demand cleaner air, cooler cities and a better future while mercilessly destroying the very things that make them possible. How much more must nature suffer to satisfy our endless selfishness? What exactly are we developing if we destroy everything worth protecting? This planet was never ours alone. Can we please, for once, just STOP?

Actually no. For a supposedly Big Tech company they're extremely bureaucratic outside of their core research and core product areas. They've a head count of ~200k. 18k is nothing to them. Add on top of it, an a large chunk of xWF folks who are third party workers. Lot of technical debt in there.

India is capable of building world-class cities, but our biggest problem is scaling that success to rest of the city . Just look at New Delhi vs. the rest of Delhi.

I think one reason India's rural population is so emotionally attached to their villages is that our cities often fail to offer a better quality of life. They are chaotic, overcrowded, polluted and lack adequate green spaces and public areas. Imagine if we built more well-planned cities like Chandigarh, Gandhinagar and Greater Noida, with ample greenery, open spaces, clean streets and peaceful neighborhoods. When urbanization offers people a genuinely better life, rather than just concrete buildings and economic opportunities, resistance to leaving ancestral land could gradually decline, making land acquisition less contentious.

Cant help but shudder to think of what those kamina pakistanis would do if in a war some of our bravehearts attain veergati. Has happened earlier in history (barbarians from ghazni ghori to mughals etc) but a secular crowd whitewashes them 🤬🤬

A Ukrainian soldier took the phone of a Russian soldier he had just killed and video-called the man’s wife to tell her, “I killed your husband.” He then mocked her, insulted her, boasted about Ukrainian forces, and said the body would be left for dogs. This is not combat. This is deliberate cruelty directed at a grieving civilian. No cause, no side, and no circumstance makes this acceptable. War does not erase the obligation to treat the dead and their families with basic human dignity. Behavior like this is disgusting and should be condemned without qualification. Humanity does not end when the fighting starts. No matter which army, this is unworthy of any soldier. For the homeland, the nation, the state you may be forced to kill a person. But you must never kill your humanity. Ukrainian authorities must immediately withdraw this soldier from the front and put him on trial. A betrayal of the nobility of the uniform.

This is a war crime under Geneva convention but the fact of the matter is United Nations is now a joke. The agreements and what not are a joke. The conventions are a joke.
