Reasons why Dolly Parton should be canonized:
• In the 1980s, she opened the Dollywood theme park in Tennessee to help her community by creating jobs;
• In 1991, she launched the Eagle Mountain Foundation to help protect bald eagles;
• Every Dollywood employee is eligible for tuition coverage for higher education — even if you were hired yesterday;
• Since 1995, her Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has been sending free books to children in disadvantaged areas across the US, Europe, Canada, and Australia. In total, 300+ millions books have been gifted;
• In the 1990s, Dolly Parton promised to personally pay $500 to children in Tennessee who graduated from high school. Thanks to her initiative, the dropout rate fell from 35% to 6%;
• She invests all the money she earns from “I Will Always Love You” into a historic Black neighborhood in Tennessee, helping keep it afloat. She calls it “the house that Whitney built”;
• People admitted to the Dolly Parton wing of a Nashville hospital — named after her because of her endless donations to the hospital — often never receive medical bills because Dolly quietly paid them herself;
• Dolly Parton secretly paid for most of the incubators for premature babies across the state of Tennessee;
• In 2016, she created the My People Fund to provide financial assistance to people who lost their homes in wildfires. Those affected received $1,000 from Dolly every month for six months;
• She was one of the key donors behind the research that led to the development of a COVID-19 vaccine;
• If young mothers cannot afford everything their baby needs, a hospital in Nashville has a direct line to Dolly’s people, who will cover formula, clothes, diapers, and hospital stays;
• She has been an icon and defender of LGBTQ+ rights since the 1980s;
• Her brands of food mixes, kitchenware, and cosmetics are deliberately sold at low prices and in the most accessible stores;
• She sponsored music and theatre programs in schools across Tennessee;
• Her music and businesses could have made her a billionaire back in the 2000s, but her charitable work simply never let that happen.
Rest in peace, our hero.

She hasn’t had anything to prove to anyone for a very long time, but now it finally feels like she has nothing left to prove even to herself — only to enjoy the outcome.

The story does a solid job portraying a type of person most of you probably know. That chaotic, bright firecracker who bursts into your life and turns everything upside down.

The Drama by Kristoffer Borgli @A24 — first thoughts: it’s provocative, it sparks debate and raises some serious questions, while still being an absolute blast of a movie, with an astonishing performance by Robert Pattinson, who steals the show, and great supporting work from Alana Haim. A must-watch.
Review coming on April 1.

11 years ago, Glee ended.
I still believe Ryan Murphy deserved a Nobel Peace Prize and jail time at the same time for that.
But seriously — with all the love for my favorite (and the best) TV shows of our time, nothing has come close to changing me, my hobbies, and the way I look at people the way Glee did. It made me dive deeper into music, introducing me to classics and Broadway. Without it, I might have never even started Showbiz by PS.

When it comes to smart, deliberate, and bold shifts in musical identity, Harry Styles remains one of the very few figures on the mainstream male pop scene who actually has the courage to pull it off.
