If youâre not building something outside of corporate America, then get used to working like this.
Iâm not interested. I canât play the office politics and dance around womenâs feelings all day. Itâs exhausting
Anyway, sitting outside drinking a beer after my run. Itâs about 70âdown here in Tennessee today
Perks of being sovereign
When I was a younger mustard, I worked in a bank branch with 17 women and 1 other guy who was rarely there.
At first I thought I hit the jackpot. Half of them were good looking and most of them seemed easy going. Looking back, I can't believe how naive I was.
I was constantly shit on for random stuff. I tell people it was like having 17 girlfriends without the benefits. If one was in a bad mood, at least 10 were in a bad mood. They absolutely all started cycling together. The good days were okay but the bad days were miserable.
I was doing accounts which included new accounts and the scary world of sales. We were judged on sold credit cards, savings accounts, etc. I kept hearing my numbers weren't good and out of the small group of us they made it seem like I was the worst. But they never said it.
We had sales training one day and I got singled out for being uncomfortable talking to customers. I'm an introvert but I've never been uncomfortable talking to people. The cool boomer lady that sat beside me actually spoke up and said "really he doesn't seem to have any problems talking to people".
I ended up accidentally seeing all the sales numbers one day and I was at the top for most categories and second or third in all the rest.
This whole shitshow peaked when I got called into a meeting out of the blue. Three female higher ups and one assistant manager chick I truly hated - who I later found out when wanted to go out with me and that's why she was a bitch to me.
They called me in at the end of the day and honestly I had been killing it with sales and filling everything out correctly - which is a massive pain in the ass at a bank. "On page one they sign above the dotted line on page two they sign below the dotted line on page 3 they initial on page 4 you initial and they initial and on page 5 you HAVE to initial the bottom right but on page 6 the initial space stays blank", shit like that. But I hadn't had any problems and my sales were up.
I thought I was getting a raise lmao. They took me in there and said "how do you think you're doing?" I said pretty good and long story short they had gone through my desk on one of my days off and found a form I started filling out but didn't finish. A coworker (female of course) had thrown the customer info on my desk and asked me to do the form. I remember it was at the end of the day and I grabbed a form and started filling it out. I quickly realized it was the wrong form so I put it in my desk and went home.
The meeting was 30 minutes of them harping about how I was clueless and I needed special attention because of this form. They said it caused a massive problem the day before while I was off. I went from expecting a raise to being told I was too retarded for my job. I got an official warning (lmao). I remember telling them exactly what happened - it wasn't my customer, it got thrown on me at the end of the day, and I discarded the form when I realized it was the wrong one - but they just acted like I was too dumb to realize how awful my mistake was.
I think part of it was this was outside of the south and they thought I was retarded because of my southern accent.
So anyway I quit the next day and went to the trades. Bless you if you read all this. It's one of those moments that sticks with me.
Descendants of the chief who inspired the "Washington Redskins" logo accuse the football team of trying to erase them, call for a meeting with President Trump to get the name restored.
The family of Chief Two Guns White Calf says they were never asked about the name change.
"They tried to erase us, like we didn't exist anymore," said estate lead Kenneth Conway.
The descendants say the Redskins logo brought their family pride, and they want the chief to be remembered.
"They did not even ask our family for approval. They didn't ask for nothing from us. I mean, we literally got erased," said Brock Conway, as reported by WTVR.
"We're hopeful for a meeting with President Trump in order to help get this pushed forward," said Morningstar Gopher.
"There's a lot of diehard Redskins fans down in Washington, D.C. This would be a win-win, I think, for everybody. It would be a win-win for the family because it would be so honored and the history of their ancestor."
The name was removed in 2020 because liberals thought it was a slur. The Washington Commanders are building a new stadium, which is set to open in 2030.
Bring back the Redskins. It's time.
Point this out to normies and they just look at you like this and say âwell itâs a spectrumâ
Back in 2022/2023, I was full time in real estate selling DH Horton concrete prisons to the normiecattle. If you called Zillow in PHX on a house in my zip code, there was a high likelihood I would get to flirt with your wife behind your back that friday touring a house.
Back in 2022 (even during 120° summer) I would receive HUNDREDS of phone calls a week. About 20% losers without money. Almost half were illegals who sometimes showed up to a showing smelling like a rat covered in shit and thought you could buy a house with a VISA. But some of those were solid leadsâpeople who are stupid enough to think $3500 /month for a toasty gray floor whitewash shitbox in a sand-colored favela was somehow going to improve their life. Those watery-eyed Disney Adults who would flop out of a Honda Odyssey with a useless Rocket Mortgage pre-approval gripped tightly in their grimy paws. On average during off season I probably did about 15 house showing appointments a week.
I had my fun, made some money along the way, and got out of the industry. But I get calls every now and again from former clients and colleagues. Usually shooting the shit. Just had one call me earlier this evening asking what I think about selling his house I bought him (VA loan, great floor plan, very affordable). Military wants him to relocate so he's been on the market for 100+ days. Price cut down to the lowest in his area (300s). Open house every weekend. Nothing. He's panicking and asking me what to do.
I get a wild hair and text my old head-taker (MLO who won loan officer of the year twice in a row) to see what's shaking. Turns out he had to sell his boat last month and considering his house. He used to sling refis and HELOCs like a drug mule does fent on Indian School and the 17. Guy made close to a million a year 2020-2023. You wouldn't know it because he's a few bad more months before going broke.
I do not see a future where real estate doesn't crash. There's simply too many illiquid deranged boomers who are drunk on decades of cheap money, shitty margaritas and will either be forced into selling or die like a 3% interest rate pharoah. I worked with too many of them (I have hundreds of stories) of Deborahs and Chucks, Dales and Sues, Bobs and Jeanies who are do not understand that Zoomers cannot afford the lifestyle inflation nor want their decrepit upranches.
Remember; every day 10,000 boomers hit 65. Then 5500 die daily. Consider that real estate supply is already high, demand is already low and this is before a wave of Margaritaville Shitboxes hit the market at delusional prices. If Meemaw and Peepaw are calling the shots they are going to drag their feet until their heels turn to hamburgerâeven if nobody puts an offer in. That means buyers will wait longer and make them bleed because a $4800 a month payment at 7+% interest rate is not feasible for an Amazon Prime Ring Doorbell goyserf family. And if they get put in a house or croak the kids always want cash out. They'll price cut until they sell, which means tanking the whole neighborhood's value.
Enjoy the show đż
Watching the stock market and my gf asks why it dropped so fast for a sec. âOil probably spiked. Iâll bet a missile landed in Saudi Arabiaâ
