Couple of our engineers have been training this week, the BPEC course they're on has some questionable advice - Weather compensation is difficult, buffers are always required, use Nest or Hive to increase scop....

Once (if) we have sufficient green supply of electricity that we can start storing Hydrogen, it will be bought by the highest bidder. That highest bidder isn't going to then put it in the gas grid to sell at domestic rates.

It is a shame to see this, the Bluegen never really took off in the UK. It was one of the only units other than the Vitovalor that received the PACE funding, although less versatile than the Viessmann mCHP fuel cell it worked better in large buildings.

IF we had a prolific amount of new renewable construction,
IF we had a massive surplus of renewable energy,
IF we then spent resources and huge amount of money in converting the energy to Hydrogen,

IF transportation, manufacturing, process etc (which pays big bucks for H2 already) was satisfied,
IF all the boilers, fires and hobs were made compatible,
IF Cadent get their way and upgrade every part of the gas grid (dissapointingly this looks likely)

This is such a monumentally bad idea and is just fuelled by the fossil fuel companies who have realised their days are numbered.
The big energy companies have a moral duty to stop dragging their heels and focusing purely on profit.

Even then, the carbon reduction per household would be completely dwarfed by the massive supply chain cost to get there.

I talk briefly about the amount of new engineers we need in the renewables industry and that there are great courses out there by @_heatgeek and Kim Betty. Not just "there aren't enough people".
They also edited out my company name, they had said they would promote us, obviously I would have little incentive to help them otherwise!
Perhaps I should tell you the bits they have edited out?
Firstly although we discuss the lack of funding for heat pumps in the UK I do say the demand is huge! More people are trying to decarbonise their homes than ever before!
