Made a brief appearance off the retired list to write about how @pdxwinterhawks veterans Josh Mori and Ryder Thompson helped Portland into the #WHLChampionship series vs. @MJWARRIORS portlandtribune.com/sports/p…
Is this the most meaningless bowl game in #GoDucks football history? Certainly feels like it. Will be interesting to see how many Ducks opt out, and how Lanning and staff motivate players. How many fans travel to a 10 a.m. (PST) game against Liberty? Challenging sell, IMHO.
Remember, this is NOT a college football playoff. This IS the ESPN College Football Invitational. There's no way ESPN was going to let FSU without a QB into the field. Sad. Wrong. But not at all surprising.

This week, we kicked off the Huston Sports Construction Project with a groundbreaking ceremony! Over the next five months, the baseball and softball fields will be replaced with state-of-the-art turf playing fields, new backstops, fences and signage. @LCPioneers @LCPiosBB
Reason for optimism? The last time I recall covering a Timbers match on a holiday was Thanksgiving Day 2021, a 1-0 Portland playoff win at Colorado. Of course, these 2 teams don't look anything like playoff contenders (@ColoradoRapids winless at home in 2023).
No Evander for #RCTID Tuesday match at Colorado (calf, not severe but not available according to Gio). Blanco has joined the team and could feature at some point tomorrow.
Recapping a rough day for Portland fans: #RCTID gets blitzed at Minnesota portlandtribune.com/sports/t… AND #BAONPDX gets blanked at home portlandtribune.com/townnews…
Just a bad 1st half on pretty much every front from this @TimbersFC squad. It was actually not good from #MNUFC except for a couple of moments. Ivacic 2 great saves has some blame on both goals. Does Gio make 4 or 5 subs at half with a game on Tuesday at Colorado? #RCTID
First move of summer transfer window for @TimbersFC is checked off with the arrival of CB Miguel Araujo #RCTID portlandtribune.com/townnews…
The @TimbersFC will be without Evander at @MNUFC. He was suspended one game (and fined) for hands to the face of NYCFC's Matias Pellegrini. The rule on hands to the face is straightforward and the MLS Disciplinary committee decision was unanimous. #RCTID
Congrats to @pdxwinterhawks D-men Luca Cagnoni (4th round-San Jose) and Carter Sotheran (5th round-Philly), who were drafted on Thursday as the #2023NHLDraft concluded.
Rhythm was hard to come by in Wednesday's @ThornsFC loss to @OLReign as the #NWSL World Cup window means new lineups and new roles. #BAONPDX portlandtribune.com/sports/o…
ICYMI: I caught up with @mparsons_1 after his return to Providence Park as coach for @WashSpirit. Not surprising that he had a lot of nice things to say about #BAONPDX fans and his 6 years guiding @ThornsFC and living #RCTID. Read it here: portlandtribune.com/sports/s…
THAT close a couple times in stoppage time is not enough for @TimbersFC, which comes away from a 2-home match week with 1 point and 2 goals scored. These 2 games against sub-par Eastern teams will be hard to forget as the season unfolds for #RCTID
Until the goal, match was a lot of what you’d expect from two clubs in search for positive answers. #RCTID
The Timbers lead NYCFC 1-0 at the half on a classy Evander finish from a nice little phase of buildup. #RCTID
The on-field engagement of anthem singer Kyra Smith was a celebratory way to kick off a match at Providence Park. #RCTID Let's see if @TimbersFC can give audience more to shout about on this Saturday.
