Around 50% of anti-European accounts are AI bots created by Russia. The rest are MAGA accounts based in India, attacking the EU because outrage generates monetization. But the movement defending Europe has never been this large. It is growing stronger day after day.
The amount of hate and disinformation about the European Union that is being spread en masse on X these days proves Ursula von der Leyen right. Organized hostile forces are only seeking to destabilize the EU under the guise of freedom of expression. They fear us.

Repost if youโ€™d like to see the return of traditional British values. Things like tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Politeness. A sense of fair play. Multicultural tolerance. Mutual respect. Humour and wit. Kindness and generosity. Merry Christmas to all.

The Brexit data is now overwhelming. Brexit damaged Britainโ€™s productive economy, trade and growth. Customs-union talk isnโ€™t nostalgia, itโ€™s a recognition that friction has costs. But trade fixes alone wonโ€™t save us unless we rebuild domestic ownership, food security and productive capacity. Growth doesnโ€™t come from slogans. It comes from what a country chooses to protect theguardian.com/politics/202โ€ฆ

Vance has repeatedly campaigned to stop American aid to Ukraine. Either he is a traitor collaborating with Putin, or he is a sociopath who sees no reason to help a peaceful country being subjected to a genocidal invasion. If you were being attacked in the street, Vance is the kind of creep who would say " not my business" and would walk on by. A Christian he is not.

At no point during the five-year span that Monty Python's Flying Circus aired on the BBC, from October 1969 to December 1974, could the greatest comedic minds of their time come up with a skit more grotesquely absurd than Trump placing a fake peace-prize medal over his own head.

A Thailand based billionaire is giving the Farageists ยฃ9m. Big money political donations subvert democracy and are a gateway to corruption. They must be made serious criminal offences. The super-rich must not be allowed to buy political power. theguardian.com/politics/202โ€ฆ

The British Empire was enormous and lasted for something like 350 years. It's a big part of British and World history, which is what David Olusaga was trying to say. He didn't claim to be anywhere near comprehensive.

When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired โ€“ which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents. In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much. Secretary Hegsethโ€™s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the Presidentโ€™s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death. If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it wonโ€™t work. Iโ€™ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.

๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Le Monde: French press says the UK is now paying Americaโ€™s pharma bill. Franceโ€™s Le Monde reports the deal in devastating clarity. Britain will raise NHS drug prices by 25% in exchange for tariff relief. Their framing: ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The US wins ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง The UK pays ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ The EU is next Le Monde bluntly describes the dynamic: โ€œAmerican patients have been forced to subsidise drugs in Europe.โ€ Trump wants Europe to pay more. The UK just became the test case. France sees exactly what this means: Britain abandoned EU pricing norms in favour of US demands. This destroys the pathway to EU realignment. The tariffs werenโ€™t hypothetical. Trump already applied them. The UK conceded after pressure. Le Monde frames this as a capitulation. Their final warning: The US will now pressure EU countries to follow the UKโ€™s example. Britain has weakened Europe as well as itself. The French press has done what the British press refuses to do: Name this deal for what it is - a geopolitical submission. lemonde.fr/en/economy/articlโ€ฆ
