ALT If Y2K was the fear of digital collapse, H2K is the promise of hydrogen-powered resilience. Y2K to H2K reframing the narrative from digital panic to hydrogen-powered progress. We’ve moved from software panic to system-level transformation and hydrogen is the upgrade that actually matters. Whilst Y2K was about digital systems breaking down; H2K positions the next 25 years as hydrogen systems powering up. Twenty-five years ago, we entered the new millennium full of hope for a brighter future. The world braced for the millennium bug, a threat that never materialised. But today, the risks we face are far more real: climate instability, energy insecurity, and the growing strain of an electrified, data-driven society. And unlike Y2K, these challenges cannot be patched with a software update. They demand that we harness the full spectrum of renewables with hydrogen as the catalyst that binds our energy system together: flexible, storable, and capable of powering all our industrial needs.
