Today is the #WorldLeukemiaDay. I would like to share some of my cartoons of being a leukemia patient. With a cancer diagnosis, the cytostatics, and a range of individuals body fluids coming into you, it can be hard to feel like yourself. It’s ok to be a disaster. #GiveBlood
Many thanks to the organisers of the #FrankfurtCancerConference for giving me the opportunity to present my work “Targeting of astrocyte reactivity in brain tumors to prevent radioresistance”. Great conference !
Congrats @RosbergRebecca 👏🏻👏🏻

“Ten years ago I was kicked out and forced to retire.”
Our new medicine laureate Katalin Karikó (@kkariko) told us how much it means to be awarded the Nobel Prize after a scientific career that has been full of challenges.
Ten years ago, Karikó was still doing all her experiments by hand but today she has been awarded the medicine prize for her research on mRNA, which led to the development of COVID-19 vaccines.
Listen now:
Congratulations to them!
BREAKING NEWS
The 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.

New research by @vanRheenen_Lab shows that taxanes, a common type of chemotherapy, turn out to kill cancer cells in a different way than previously thought. This finding can help optimize the use of taxanes: more effective and with fewer side effects ➡️ bit.ly/43z7I8Q
Happy to present my work tomorrow at #EACR2023. Come to poster P-0547 if you want to know more about how to target astrocyte reactivity in #BrainTumor ! 🧠
Great talk at #EACR2023 from the 2 recipients of @pezcoller foundation Nicola Aceto and @Johanna_A_Joyce ! And thank you @Johanna_A_Joyce for your ideas to promote #WomenInScience
