The second day of the #IGAD Media and Influencer Training in Nairobi, Kenya, focused on the role of media and digital creators in promoting food systems resilience.
Participants discussed how to share accurate information, verify facts, use reliable sources and create content that informs the public and encourages accountability. They also worked in groups to develop content around soil health and climate advisory services.
By equipping journalists and influencers with the right skills and knowledge, IGAD is strengthening communication efforts to support more resilient food systems across the region.

Who ain’t corrupt in Uganda 🙆🏻♂️
Prime minister @R_Nabbanja unhappy with the officials who were handling the Bugishu Resettlement Program. The 10 million Ugx given to the affected still sits on account since 2023 because of corrupt officials who want to still supply food to displaced families in camps ( tents) ⛺️ , and now citizens have ended up returning to landslide areas, some men reported their wives being impregnated by unknown men because they wanted food to feed their families!
Such officials should be behind bars but , Hon min Nabajja has given these same corrupt officials a second chance to work 💔

At #GirlsAgenda2026, discussions on “Girls as Leaders, Not Just Beneficiaries” focused on the need to give girls more opportunities to lead and take part in decisions that affect them.
Girls need to be involved from the start when organisations plan projects, set priorities and decide where resources should go. Their ideas and experiences can help create solutions that respond to the real challenges they face in their communities.
As @GeorginaAsizu from @IriseEastAfrica stressed, listening to girls should lead to action. Organisations must go beyond giving girls a platform to speak and make sure their views are considered and acted upon.
The message was clear: girls should not just be part of the conversation. They should also help make decisions, lead initiatives and shape programmes that affect their future.

Today, stakeholders from across Uganda’s food and agriculture sectors gather for the 8th National Agroecology Actors’ Symposium (NAAS), under #AgroecologyWeekOfAction2026.
The symposium provides a platform to exchange knowledge, share experiences and explore practical solutions for transforming Uganda’s agrifood systems through agroecology, while advancing sustainable production, environmental conservation, climate resilience and better livelihoods for farming communities.
Agroecology goes beyond farming. It concerns the food on our plates, the health of our soils, the environment we depend on and the future of our communities.
How can farmers, policymakers, businesses and consumers work together to advance agroecology and build a more just and resilient food future?

All along Police knew the people terrorizing the city and they didn’t care until the CDF stepped up stepped to handle the matters. These people might have stole over 2 billion from people in Kampala but where did they put the money?
