Indiana has leaders who think it’s fine for the Governor to use Hoosier taxpayer money to put in a helipad at his private mansion to get back and forth to work in his helicopter because he refuses to live in the governor’s mansion. Indiana has leaders who think it’s fine to use Hoosier taxpayer money to buy luxury SUVs for themselves. Indiana has leaders who think it’s fine for the Governor to use Hoosier taxpayer money to rent a hospitality suite to host and entertain his guests at the Freedom 250 race. Indiana has leaders who think it’s fine to give $8 billion dollars in tax cuts, credits, abatements, etc… to billion dollar industries while writing laws that make Hoosiers pay their bills for them. Indiana has leaders who think it’s fine to do all of this while taking healthcare away from the disabled and 174k Hoosier kids. Indiana has leaders who think it’s fine to do all of this while making it harder, and sometimes impossible, for all Hoosiers to simply maintain their health. Indiana GOP gave $8 billion in tax cuts to data centers while voting against a 7% sales tax exemption and a childcare tax credit for Hoosiers. Indiana GOP voted to cut childcare vouchers leading to the closure of 300 childcare centers. Indiana GOP voted to allow Hoosier utility bills to skyrocket by over 17% to pay for the electricity demand resulting from all the data centers they invited in. Indiana GOP voted to kick 174,000 Hoosier kids off of Medicaid and also cut Medicaid to disabled Hoosiers. They did all that while STILL managing to over tax us and now have about $6 billion just sitting there. Their response to Hoosier outrage? “But what about trans men who might want to play in the WNBA..?!”
