Kudos to ATCO Frontec, which converted a remote site in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, into a fully operational temporary base capable of supporting 350 Canadian Armed Forces personnel during the ongoing Operation NANOOK-NUNAKPUT - in just three weeks. More than 40 countries - Canada and its allies - have sanctions against Belarus for supporting war criminal Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Buying blood potash from Belarus is supporting Russian aggression. It’s wrong and it doesn’t make sense. All of that potash has to be shipped first through Russia, then across the ocean, then across the US to mid-western farmers. Does anyone believe Belarusian blood potash shipped through Russia is going to be more affordable, more sustainable or more ethical than potash shipped from Saskatchewan - right here in North America?

1) Saskatchewan has the world’s largest potash deposits, producing twice as much potash as Belarus. 85% of US potash imports come from Saskatchewan, efficiently and reliably shipped by rail. 2) Belarus is a brutal dictatorship and puppet state for Vladimir Putin under international (including American) sanctions for gross human rights abuses. 3) Belarusian potash production has been fully contracted to Asian buyers (eg China and India) since the imposition of western sanctions. Belarusian dictator Lukashenko has already said "Even if we wanted to supply somewhere else, Western markets, we just don't have those volumes, everything has been contracted." 4) The US Government does not buy potash. US fertilizer companies and ag producers do. Those private sector buyers have consistently demonstrated their preference for Canadian potash. 5) President Trump tariffed Canadian potash early in 2025, then backed off days later following loud protests from American ag producers and their Congressional representatives.

Donald Trump’s threats if Canada & the EU work more closely validate Canada’s decision to walk away from the talks. They also raise doubts about the value of the EU’s “deal” with the US. Trump has no right to dictate our relationships with third countries. nationalnewswatch.com/2026/0…

It’s hard to believe that we would ever reach the point where reaching Richard Nixon’s moral standards would require a quantum improvement.

CNBC: Do you believe that Mark Carney was acting in good faith in those negotiations — one of the things you kept hearing from the Trump administration and Howard Lutnick was that he was not? Pierre Poilievre: I'm not gonna attack my prime minister on foreign soil.

I’ve said from the start that Ottawa should be clear about the American demands. It should disclose more so we needn’t rely on spin from people like Lutnick. But we can’t break our word by revealing documents if we want other nations to trust us in future negotiations.
Kirsten Hillman: "Our entire negotiating team signed confidentiality agreements, and so did the U.S. team. So all the people that are involved in those negotiations have commitments not to release the text that was being shared back and forth." (there goes another talking point)

No need to wonder about whether I’m biased, Stacy. I’ve been privileged to get to know Canada and Canadians in every part of this country. I am wholeheartedly committed to what I believe is the best nation on the face of the Earth.
I'm sure he holds no bias...

Please take the time to watch Prime Minister Carney’s video. The contrast between his calm, rational presentation and the flood of threats and adolescent memes from the Oval Office is striking. The days ahead won’t be easy for Canadians, but building a nation has never been easy.
