Leftist trolls have lied about me ever since I made my first post to social media in July 2022 challenging abortion up to birth laws in Australia. If you follow these trolls or watch their content and they say "Joanna Howe was forced to unpublish her paper by Adelaide Uni", you should unfollow them as they are lying outright.
And now I'm fighting back against Adelaide Uni for taking the side of unhinged radical left activists instead of allowing me to undertake research and advocacy on controversial issues that are out of step with left-wing ideology.
Not a single allegation against me relates to research or teaching misconduct. I have always been one of the top teachers and researchers in the Law School, winning awards and prizes across both core areas of being an academic. I was even promoted to Professor and received two ARC grants before the age of 40, both of which are atypical in the Law discipline.
The only reason I'm now facing these relentless investigations, allegations and legal letters is because I refuse to comply with the left's religious position on abortion, Islam, gender, climate and prostitution. These are all sacred cows I've taken on in my time at the Law School since 2022.
Prior to 2022 I was feted and loved and promoted because my research and advocacy were on migrant worker exploitation, which was a position that the left agreed with.
I don't think universities should persecute staff and students who disagree with the left. I think the idea of a university should be predicated on the pursuit of truth and knowledge. Academic freedom and free speech on campus and in scholarship are critical to the achievement of this goal.

Some of the leaders in Europe—Macron included—want this conflict with Russia to continue. We’ve talked about the military-industrial complex here in the United States that keeps beating the drums of war. Europe has one too. For that complex to keep growing and justifying itself, it needs a boogeyman. Right now, that boogeyman is Russia. As long as they keep repeating “Russia is the threat, Russia is the threat,” they get the budgets, the influence, and the political cover they want. The endless war narrative serves their interests, not the interests of the people paying for it or the soldiers on the ground. This isn’t about defending Europe from an imminent invasion. It’s about sustaining a system that requires a permanent enemy.

James Ashby nailed it. The so-called "conservative" media in this country is a joke.

I have to leave Australia so I can actually run a start-up exclusively for women while men who claim to be women have BREASTFEEDING PROTECTIONS IN LAW🤬
The current government, including representatives of the attorney-general, have no plans to fix it. They’re happy to admit it:

BREAKING:
Absolutely outrageous. Government advisers discussed behind closed doors the potentially fatal blood-clot risks of giving AstraZeneca Covid jabs to children as young as SIX in a clinical trial. Yet the trial continued despite healthy children being at extremely low risk from Covid. How was this ethically justified? Where was the transparency and informed consent? First do no harm. There must be accountability.

A senior economist was on TV saying Australia is on track for major economic decline. He said if all we have is a recession that would be good. However he predicted a crash. Where thousands and thousands lose their homes and jobs. He said Jim Chalmers and Albanese won't rein in spending. He said the writing is on the wall.

BREAKING: Department of Infrastructure officials have just confirmed what many suspected: the $6 million federal grant to Marrickville Golf Club in Anthony Albanese’s electorate was not for fixing sewerage issues.
Albanese repeatedly told Parliament and the ABC that the money was to stop raw sewage flowing into the Cooks River during floods.
Officials at Senate estimates were clear: “It does not include sewerage works.”
The actual project, according to departmental briefs, FOI documents and council minutes:
$4.5m went to the clubhouse redevelopment (bar, toilets, pro shop, alfresco dining, dog station)
$1m stormwater harvesting.
$0.5m landscaping/native plantings
The septic/sewage connection was handled separately by a $269,500 NSW Government grant in 2025.
This is the same club where Albanese held an undisclosed honorary membership dating back years, something he says he didn’t know about and never used, despite being caught on camera at the club hundreds of times.
People have been forced to stand down over far less.
Barry O’Farrell resigned as NSW Premier in 2014 after ICAC evidence showed he received a bottle of Penfolds Grange (valued at around $3,000) that he failed to declare and initially denied receiving.
One bottle. One denial. Career over.
Here we have a Prime Minister whose department has contradicted his public statements about a $6 million grant to a club in his own seat, after an undeclared membership was revealed, and he remains in office.
If a bottle of Grange ended a Premier, what standard are we applying now?

Can we stop twisting this into something it isn’t? The man charged with deliberately running down Helen Haines is a longtime environmental activist with a documented history of mental health struggles, isolation, and neurological issues.
His online activity was an environmentalist and later pro-Palestine, not manosphere content, cartoons, or right-wing politics.
This attack has nothing to do with those things. I’m tired of seeing a brutal crime against an MP exploited for unrelated agendas.

To my Brazilian friends: the free world is watching, and we are horrified.
Flávio Bolsonaro won. He is Brazil’s legitimate President. Communist Lula stole the election through the Supreme Court.
Now is the time to protest peacefully and stand up for democracy. Free Brazil!

True
Lula packed Brazil’s Supreme Court with his own lawyer and justice minister and had them lock his rival up for 27 years.
Back in 2023, after taking power, he named Cristiano Zanin and Flávio Dino to the court. In 2025 both voted to convict Jair Bolsonaro of a coup plot and hand him the sentence.
That court had previously wiped Lula’s own corruption convictions in 2021 so he could run again.
On election day, Zanin ordered the polls kept open another 2 hours, 3 minutes before they were supposed to close. Both sides had asked, but the call came from Lula’s former defense lawyer.
Even after Bolsonaro was barred and jailed, Lula still trailed Flávio 45–47 in the first round and only scraped past him by under 4 points in the runoff.
Flávio still refuses to concede. Lula called the win a defeat for denialism and lies.
Two of the judges who put his rival away were the men he put on the court. Voters barely picked him. The court cleared the path.

Labor has spent years taking working Australians for granted, while families struggle with the rising cost of living, housing pressures and soaring power bills.
The growing frustration with the major parties is impossible to ignore.
With Victoria heading to the polls, the election will provide another measure of just how much the political landscape is changing across Australia.
