a few ideas here.
@OxfordshireCC
In 2015, Oslo committed to zero pedestrian or cyclist deaths; a goal it reached in four years with a safe system approach:
1️⃣ Redistribution to other modes
2️⃣ Restriction of through-traffic
3️⃣ Removal of multi-lane roads
4️⃣ Reduction of design speed
5️⃣ Redesign of infrastructure

Why does Copenhagen invest so much in cycle infrastructure?
They calculated every km. cycled produces a societal economic gain of DKK 4.79 (€0,64); every km. driven loses DKK 5.29 (€0,71).
Society therefore saves DKK 10.08 (€1,35) per km. when people cycle rather than drive.

Just in case you weren't sure what modes of transport are being prioritised in big Oxford infrastructure projects....
Yep, it's four lanes of vehicular traffic 🤦
The proposed design for the Kidlington roundabout is out for comment. This is outrageous. There's four lanes for traffic and the tortuous blue line is a shared path for walking and cycling. LTN 1/20 compliant? Absolutely not....🤦

Outstanding work from the folks vandalising the East Oxford LTNs here.
Damaged a removable bollard by ripping it out / driving over it so much that when a fire engine wants to come through they have to cut it because their key doesn't work. Nice one 👍

I led this ride along Broad Street today. It was AMAZING. One 11yo said it was the first time she’d felt free cycling on the roads. ❤️

All kinds of cycles, some cycling six year olds, the younger kids on seats or tagalongs or cargo bikes.
