*BRILLIANT* The French made a short film about what could happen after all immigrants would follow the ‘_white, angry old man’s_’ advice to go back where they came from.*

The Guardian has now been told by three sources that in March 2024 Nigel Farage told senior Reform insiders that if he were to resume leadership of the party, and run to be an MP, he would need to be compensated for the financial harm of giving up his City career to spend 20 years campaigning and standing for election again. Insiders and donors were insistent that Farage needed to return and to take Reform into not only a 2024 general election but a 2029 one, too. He argued that would cost him £5m, the sources said. No mention was made of security costs in the discussions about needing to replace lost earnings, sources said.

Oddly important for MAGA to talk about a UK with “unfettered immigration” and “through the roof” crime - when trends clearly in opposite direction….
🗞️UPDATE: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer set to resign on Monday, with one of the main reasons of allowing unfettered immigration in the UK, as crime has gone through the roof

I have no aptitude for that, Julia. Unlike your great hero, I also have no aptitude for encouraging race riots on the streets of the UK. Hey, each to their own.

I was a prison officer, Nick. You can't preach "tough on crime." Your lot cut nearly 7,000 prison officers since 2010 and handed our jails to G4S and Serco. You broke the system, then act shocked it doesn't work. You know what actually works? Lads out on licence getting their track tickets, learning a trade, coming home as taxpayers instead of reoffenders. That's using human capital, not warehousing it. A lad sat in a cell doing nothing helps nobody. And funny how quiet you all go on the tax dodgers and the oligarchs bankrolling Putin's war. Boris took a Russian ex-KGB man's hospitality at his Italian villa, dodged his own officials, then made the son a Lord. Where's your "lock them up" energy for that?
David Lammy wants to put violent young thugs on a course. We want to put them in prison. The teenage rapists proved the problem. Lammy must change the sentencing rules.

This is what elite, world-class investigative journalism looks like: Carole Cadwalladr and her team at The Nerve have forensically stripped the mask off the British political establishment. The pattern they found in The Harborne Receipts is nothing short of terrifying. Millions of pounds flow from a crypto-billionaire into the pockets of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage, and like clockwork, weeks later, those exact politicians start pushing laws to benefit the crypto industry. It is the exact same playbook Donald Trump used in America. It is cash-for-policy, clear as day. While the billionaire-owned press tries to distract us with culture wars and theatre, true journalists follow the money. This is the toxic soil that is destroying our democracy from within. Absolute honour to see her back in action!
Last week: @thenerve_news. This week: the FT View. We forensically tracked cryptobillionaire Christopher Harborne’s donations against Nigel Farage’s crypto policy statements. Yesterday the FT pulled out this same point in its main editorial & notes the similarity to Trump. 1/

The wonderful Anne Applebaum explains the whole reason for Russian's invasion of Ukraine
Putin didn't invade Ukraine because of NATO. He invaded because Ukrainians were proving democracy works. Historian and Pulitzer Prize winner Anne Applebaum puts it plainly: Putin looked at Ukraine's democratic movement and thought, "If they can do it in Ukraine, then people could do it in Russia. So I need to crush this." That's the real threat Ukraine posed. Not missiles. Not borders. A working democracy next door. Applebaum frames the war as a fault line between the democratic and autocratic worlds. Russia isn't just trying to take territory. It's trying to erase Ukraine as a nation, reduce it to a colony, and send a message to every country that the post-1945 rules of Europe no longer apply. Those rules were simple: no invasions, no wars, borders don't change by force. Russia understood exactly what it was breaking when it crossed into Ukraine.
