Each year, the Martha Jean Lemon Distinguished Speaker Series at Oklahoma City University brings an interesting perspective to campus. Last night, I was honored to moderate the 2026 edition, which focused on the Olympics in OKC. Of course, OCU will host our 2028 athletic village and played a vital role in the early development of paddlesport competition around the Oklahoma River.
For this conversation, I was joined by Mike Knopp of RIVERSPORT, Michael Byrnes of Team OKC and Craig Cress of USA Softball.
Anticipation continues to build toward July of 2028!
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Martha Jean Lemon Distinguished Speaker Series! Our students had the opportunity to hear from OCU Rowing Coach, Olympian, and gold medalist Bryan Volpenhein in conversation with the Thunder's Nick Gallo. (1/2)
