Can we just skip to the part where they largely sell at a loss to people who actually need somewhere to live?
JUST IN: Airbnb hosts threaten to strike after the company bans them from forcing guests to wash dishes, strip beds, or take out trash before checkout.

I always assumed "pins and needles" was a British thing and Americans called it something like "foot static". It's too fun and whimsical to be an American term.
what do British people call pins and needles? Feels like one of those things where I’m gonna be minding my business some day and get jump scared by someone telling me y’all call it something like “millions and billions of crumpet spiders”

What was the long term plan, if the short term plan was to erase my existence?
🚨 The allegation that Sam Altman and OpenAI tried to squash any mention of his sister Annie from his @NYMag profile has now also been corroborated by Elizabeth Weil herself: "It was naive to think they could keep this hidden and everyone needs to adjust themselves to reality."

AI will poison every single system we have long before it does a singular thing for our collective benefit.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

The kids are malnourished & the govt refuses to give them easiest, low-cost solution: eggs. We should all be ashamed, esp BJP. Trillion dollar economy with hungry kids.

Airbnb, like many Silicon Valley companies, was a concerted effort to disrupt the hotel industry and skirt unionized workforces. You don’t have to own the property. Customers pay you to do the work of union housekeeping! It made its founders very wealthy. I root for its demise
Airbnb went from a cheap way to crash in a spare bedroom or rent a vacation house for a weekend and turned into "what if hotels openly hated you and acted like they were doing you a favor by letting you give them hundreds of dollars to stay there, and also it's more expensive"

People are sick of speaking to robots & live chats when they have an issue. They wanna speak to a human. People who’ve lost thousands of pounds to scams don’t want the decision to be provided by a robot. Fuck Barclays and every single company who is going down this route

Don't wanna ruin everyone's "Twitter's so back" party, but a bunch of you are, once again, responding to a Verified engagement farmer that ripped off another engagement farmer's post from July, which probably came from someone else before that. You're all talking to static.

A society that respects consent at every level is good actually
🇮🇪 The Irish state has published an advert discouraging grandparents from hugging their grandchildren, as part of a campaign designed to promote "consent".

when i was a healthcare assistant in the NHS, if you had a shift the night the clocks went back, you worked an extra hour but you didn't get paid for it so i guess i'll probably use the extra hour getting angry about wage theft
The clocks go back by one hour on 25 October at 2am, which means you’ll gain an hour ⏰ What will you do with the extra time? Let us know below 👇

Remember when Ronaldo was given special exemption to live in with his girlfriend despite strict Saudi laws? There was no lecture about Islam or haram from the law abiding extremists. You are not right or wrong. You are either poor & powerless or rich & influential.
I don't know how to make people understand that a public PDA is not enough grounds for a beheading. You are not god.

In light of the recent averted execution of the Sri lankan dude and the beheading of the young Bangladeshi couple, it bears looking at the history of Saudi racism that in fact the majority of saudi nationals display. KSA should be treated in the same vein as Israel

People are giving weird excuses for why French style riots don't happen in the UK. Reality: we're a fatally conservative country that can't unite on any one thing and begrudges anyone that tries to aim high. Free meals for kids, fair pay for nurses, TFL strikes, all get pushback.

I'm not a religious fanatic, but you have to be a fool to believe that because a couple kissed, they'll be beheaded. You guys keep flying the narrative that they were killed because of a forehead kiss. Does it make any sense
