Yes, Konnor. It's very much a gross over simplification for the terminally arrogant. Each of those "mindless consumers" is an 86 billion neuron massively complicated homosapien with individual memories, motivations and relationships. We may be vulnerable. But we are not mindless.

It can be inherently hurtful when someone see's garbage in something that is personally deeply valuable to you. It takes discipline to acknowledge that it's just "our silly personal opinion" on something we love. But you make the world better by acknowledging it.
