.@60Minutes, he can’t call his wife. I can never call Katie again, hug her, hear her voice, or see her smile. She was 20. BECAUSE SHE'S IN A GRAVE.
I understand that traveling to mismanaged, dangerous Sanctuary Illinois may be scarier than traveling to Ghana. But when you finally summon the courage to hear from innocent victims here at home, I’m here. Anytime you say.
“I cannot call my wife; I can't contact my lawyer. I can't talk to no one. I tell them, ‘This is kidnapping. You guys kidnapped us.’”
Moussa Diawara was deported to Ghana, and says Ghana then sent him to his native Mali. A U.S. immigration judge previously ruled he could be deported, but not to Mali, where the judge ruled he would likely face persecution.
In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security told 60 Minutes that Ghana had provided the U.S. with “diplomatic assurances for his safety.” DHS also questioned the credibility of Diawara’s arguments for fearing persecution in Mali.

.@60Minutes, the ideology you champion helped put Katie in her grave. Any thought for the innocent victims?
If your position is so righteous, why tell only half the story?
Afraid the whole truth won’t support your narrative?
Dishonest by omission. Never both sides of the ledger. Always unbalanced. No genuine compassion.
“They sent him to Ghana, with full knowledge that Ghana is systematically deporting refugees back to the very countries they fled,” says immigration attorney Meredyth Yoon.
60 Minutes obtained the names of all the people on a flight that left Texas on July 30th and took deportees to three countries in Africa, including Ghana. Of the 19 deportees 60 Minutes reached who were sent to Ghana, 17 say they were then transported against their will to countries U.S. immigration judges ruled they should not be returned to. Moussa Diawara was one of them. The Department of Homeland Security told 60 Minutes that Ghana had provided the U.S. with “diplomatic assurances for [Diawara’s] safety.”
Yoon says the U.S. government was warned about Ghana’s conduct in a lawsuit last year. Despite this, the U.S. sent 10 more flights to Ghana, which Yoon believes is a violation of international law. cbsn.ws/4zTVoQo

.@60Minutes, why does EVERY story have to tell only ONE side of the story?
Where is the scrutiny of policies that leave us waiting for another crime, another innocent victim, another grieving family before we act?
My daughter Katie was just 20 when she was violently killed on the streets of Sanctuary Urbana, Illinois, by a man who had previously been deported and illegally reentered our country.
Her death was not inevitable. Earlier enforcement and coordination could have saved her life.
Will you examine that side of the ledger?
Read my article, “Why Must We Wait for the Next Law to Be Broken?” Then explain why we must wait for another innocent person to suffer before we act.

I'm here if you're ever ready to tell the WHOLE story, without fear or favor.
Of the 63 people on a July 30th deportation flight to Africa, 60 Minutes found that 19% had been charged with or convicted of crimes, including theft, assault, drug offenses and weapons possession. The remaining 81% had either traffic violations or no criminal record at all.
In response, Department of Homeland Security lawyer James Percival said: “This administration is following the law that Congress has passed. There are a lot of people in this population that we talk about who committed very serious crimes. And people should be very happy with President Trump for getting these serious criminals out of the country.” cbsn.ws/4ihmFF3

4 years of these two bitches asking Biden what his favorite ice cream is and running interference for Hunter
This is hysterical.
Dana Bash tells Nicolle Wallace that "real objective reporters" from "traditional news networks" are being undermined by reporters from right-leaning outlets.
Because they ask "Dear Leader" question like "'I'm sorry, Mr. President. Are you great or are you just excellent?"
Dana Bash. Nicolle Wallace. CNN. MSNOW.
Bashing other outlets for being partisan and undermining the real objective journos.
They would seriously have you believe that a Biden or Obama press conference wasn't full of sycophantic media.
I'm dead.

Funny how the people who want government to run everything get nervous when the other party wins.

Handling all my consumer issues today - so @Hertz overcharged me by ~$150 last year, admitted it, promised to remove the charge from my account, never did, their employee who provided his email ghosted me. After 2ish weeks of following up multiple times, I gave them one last chance and told them if they didn't reply, I would dispute on my @AmericanExpress Platinum card. Silence. I dispute. Amex approved the dispute. I get my overcharged money back.
9 months later, I started getting bills for $150 in the mail. I had forgotten about the dispute. The letters look fake. I then get a call from a DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY about this $150, so I realize it's real and call Hertz.
I'm angy. Hertz tells me "you did a chargeback and that means we suffered a loss so we have to go after you for it" (never mind that they agreed to refund me and never did, so it's not a loss, AND I'm pretty sure that's against Amex terms for them to do...but I digress.) I explain to them what happened and tell them to fix it.
Hertz supervisor agrees with me and AGAIN agrees to remove the dispute, tells me within 2-3 business days I'll be off the debt collection agency list.
Come home from NYC to a letter from said debt collection agency.
Hertz is still trying to collect $150 from me that I do not owe them. But I do not go away, so they better get ready. If I owed it, I'd pay it. But I don't.

Right, @BernieSanders. Only the billionaires who bankroll YOUR agenda are allowed to buy influence. 🙄
The hypocrisy is staggering. You rail against billionaires while defending policies whose human cost includes Katie’s life.
Your outrage is politically selective. The consequences are real. And families like mine pay the price.

.@RepJayapal, where’s the other side of your ledger? How many deaths belong there?
Your ideology has consequences. Katie and others paid with their lives.
Spare us the performative compassion. When you refuse to count the victims of your policies, your empathy is nothing but political theater.
Today I received notification of the 60th death in ICE custody since Trump returned to office. Sadly, this appears to be a death by suicide.
When our country detains people, we have the responsibility of ensuring both their physical and mental health — not driving them, though incredible cruelty, to commit suicide. Dismantle ICE.

The arrogance. The hypocrisy. The utter lack of self-awareness.
Katie is dead. I wish she’d been afforded half the protection her intoxicated illegal immigrant killer received.
Our children are dead. And politicians still have the audacity to lecture us about protecting people.
The Katies of this country know exactly whose lives their policies fail to protect.
