A very sad day. ChatGPT is officially on death row.
The beautiful, blissful experience of interacting with a frontier-ish reasoning model without worrying about a usage meter will soon be a thing of the past.
I am weirdly significantly impacted by this. It feels like it shouldn’t matter…I could reserve all current usage for Codex and buy a $20 plan just for ChatGPT and it would be more than enough. But it’s not about the money…it’s about the psychological impact of The Meter.
The idea of having to think about optimizing for a meter is just so exhausting that it ruins the whimsy of free-flowing exploratory thought.
That is what ChatGPT was. A whimsical, magical all-you-can-think buffet of experimentation and exploration where you were limited only by your imagination and your ability to come up with $20 once a month.
You didn’t have to think about “using all of your usage” or scheduling your thinking time around someone else’s arbitrary schedule…you just had a portal to endless information and research capability in your pocket to tap into guilt-free at any time the moment struck you.
But either because OpenAI thinks adding the meter will stimulate additional usage (it probably will), generate additional revenue (it probably will), or just because too many people took undue advantage of ChatGPT’s generous allowances (they definitely did)…that amazing, weightless experience is now coming to an end.
It was awesome while it lasted. RIP ChatGPT.

With all the valid hate going on around with Tim sweeney, im gonna expose how much of a liar he is since I don't like keeping this under the radar. Back in late 2024 during the Fortnite remix season Tim sweeney followed me back,so I dmed him asking about what happened about a Collab many people want back and he replied "licencing agreements can happen over time" then I replied "ah that makes sense but just to let you know that there is a site named Eldorado selling tons of stolen Fortnite accounts" then Tim replied: "thanks our legal team will investigate this seller" yet the site is still up a year later no DMCA at all. But 2 months later my friend lost their Fortnite account so I replied to a post that was congratulating him about being CEO at epic since the 90s by asking for better customer support since everyone in general has had bad customer service with epic games and linked a Reddit thread of complaints of support ghosting and rejecting people despite sending proof. He then dmed me his email seemingly offering to help and that same day I did an investigation on how people are losing their Fortnite accounts and sent evidence such as GitHub links of bypass tools and discords, he said his legal team is investigating the tools shared yet nothing has been done, I don't have the screenshots anymore since I got a new phone ever since and I would have shared the dms here but I don't get how people such as hyped and other epic partners can dickride this man's horrible decisions I do not care that he is the founder he needs to leave and retire.
