A free Venezuela will be a boon to freedom everywhere.
My prayers go out to María Corina, her team, and the people of Venezuela as they fight for liberty and their country.
May they be safe and victorious.

President Macron: "There is no explanation."
Well, Mr Macron, there actually is in three words.
Appeasing. Islamic. Fanatics.
You've done this domestically and you've done this on a global scale.
Now you face what so many Iranians have been warning you about.

It is with great honour that I can announce Prince Reza Pahlavi will be giving a lecture about the Middle East at the Royal Military Academy of Belgium on Friday 6th of November 2026. I will receive the Prince at our Academy for a breakfast meeting.
This high level event will provide the military university of the Belgian Defense with profound insights into the region's complex geopolitical landscape.

Nine months is how long a mother waits to bring her child into the world.
Nine months after the January massacre, mothers across Iran began a campaign to ensure that the children killed by the regime are never forgotten.
At his grave, Amirsalar Bahmaninejad’s mother speaks to her 16-year-old son, who left home saying, “I’ll be back soon.”
The regime’s security forces shot him dead in Isfahan on January 9, 2026. She remembers the keepsakes she had saved since his birth, and the birth certificate later punched through to officially record his death.

The Islamic Republic has figured out how to murder its own people without making headlines: hang them one or two at a time.
Over 2,000 executions in 12 months. And the world STILL rolls out the red carpet for Tehran’s diplomats. This is complicity.

Majid Nikandish, a true soldier of Iran, was arrested and executed by the Islamic Republic after refusing to open fire on protesters who took to the streets of Mashhad during Iran's January National Uprising.
A photo of his final testament, written hours before his execution, was recently released. In it, Majid speaks of his love for his family and asks them to celebrate his life at his funeral. He emphasizes that only one question remains on his mind: "Why?"
This is the question every awakened conscience must ask today to amplify the voices of these innocent political prisoners: Why does the Islamic Republic execute the children of Iran on baseless and fabricated charges?
We will never forget Iran's fallen heroes. Justice will prevail!

Someone who says "send this European problem back to f***ing Europe," and who has been on two state-sponsored visits to Iran - this year alone - should not be platformed by the BBC.
And their dismissive and arrogant response was wrong too.
My letter to the BBC:
We are learning the names of so many talented Iranians after their death.
Today, I learned the name Ali-Sina Mostafavi. I wish I had learned his name in another way.
The regime called him a terrorist. This video shows the person behind that label: a 38-year-old mountaineer who had summited Mount Everest, a musician, an animal lover, and someone with a deep appreciation for life and nature. Watch it and judge for yourself.

@NoorPahlavi asks the world to look beyond the Islamic Republic’s manufactured label and see the life it tried to erase: Ali-Sina Mostafavi, a 38-year-old mountaineer who had summited Mount Everest, a musician, an animal lover, and a man with a deep appreciation for life and nature.
The regime called him a terrorist. His life tells another story.

Interesting. Been saying for a while that I think @KemiBadenoch will be our next Prime Minister. She speaks in common-sense language that resonates with voters, and is very likeable. Burnham already struggling, Reform/Greens toast, Lib Dems irrelevant.

Pollster note: The changes are within the margin of error, so it's difficult to distinguish signal from noise, but I suspect there is some degree of "conference bounce" there, with the Tories getting a boost from their coverage, and Labour declining again as the temporary impact of their own conference fades.
It may well be a temporary Tory boost, but for the record it means this is the first time that we have had Reform back in third place since 2024 (it’s technically the first time since early 2024 – but we didn’t poll between the election and January 2025 while we were reviewing methods, so we don’t know exactly when Reform overtook the Tories).

This is a good statement. But the problem is that many of the Government signatories still believe you can appease this Regime. The truth is it will never give up on promoting terrorism, spreading its extreme ideology, blackmailing the region and west or its mission to build a nuclear bomb. This is in its DNA. Its reason to exist. It is not a normal gov but an extreme ideological project that is holding 93 million hostage. The only solution for peace and stability is to back the Iranian people to overthrow this extremist regime. gov.uk/government/news/joint…

ZETEO. Where cancel culture thrives.
According to Zeteo in their guide to “Ranking Celebrity Responses To The Gaza Genocide”, Amy schumer, Jerry Seinfeld and Michael Rappaport are in the UGLY section. Non-Jews like Ed Sheeran and DJ Khaled are in the BAD section for their apparent silence on Gaza.
Also in the ‘silent on Gaza’ BAD section are Po from the Teletubbies, Roland Rat, Basil Brush, Peppa Pig and Paddington Bear. Mehdi is also right that he has never heard Sooty and Sweep say anything about Gaza. The observation that SpongeBob Sqaure Pants seems suspiciously on the fence, also bang on.
Well done Zeteo & Mehdi Hasan with their deep dive exposé on these morally bankrupt children’s TV charlatans. May we never see them on our screens again.
We note with interest that Bungle from Rainbow was unavailable for comment.
On a separate note, I am fully behind the urgent Owen Jones recommendation that Bruce Forsythe should be exhumed to see what he thinks.

The Iranian govt has executed over 2,000 people in the past 12 months and 9 of them were public (this does not include the tens of thousands of young people murdered for daring to protest).
As far as I can see, the highly principled Jeremy Corbyn couldn’t bring himself to protest or even complain about a single one of them.
Televising a public execution is beyond disgusting and barbaric. The death penalty should not exist, let alone be a live-streamed spectacle.
This is a grotesque violation of human dignity. We must oppose this - and the death penalty - everywhere.
