The NLL is entering its 40th anniversary season.
Forty years.
Think about the history, the legendary players, the rivalries, the dynasties and the generations of fans who built this league.
So where is the marketing campaign?
Yes, there’s been an anniversary announcement. Some merchandise. A Hall of Fame ceremony.
But where is the major national promotion?
Where are the historical documentaries, the legendary-player features, the anniversary television specials, the campaigns introducing four decades of professional box lacrosse to new audiences?
Where is the excitement?
Instead, the biggest headlines heading into the season have been two franchises ceasing operations and the league moving from ESPN to FloSports.
I’m genuinely asking:
What is the NLL’s comprehensive marketing strategy for its 40th anniversary?
Because forty years of history should be an extraordinary opportunity to sell this sport.
And right now, I’m struggling to see a campaign worthy of that milestone.
The history deserves better. The players deserve better. The fans deserve better.
It's beginning to look a lot like beer league

Did Michael Ball get himself fired from another job or why does he keep popping up on our timeline?!
That @DenverOutlaws and @PLLRedwoods matchup did not disappoint. What a game.

Almost 10 years ago we started making this film, but it never had closure because I wasn’t flying at the time. I was crippled by anxiety and trauma and had convinced myself I would never get on a plane again. At one point I told my manager, “Let the documentary come out when I’m dead.”
I’m still here. And today, the documentary is out on Hulu.
I hope my story can inspire someone who needs it the way I needed stories like this when I was a kid. For anyone who feels trapped, like their dreams are out of reach or certain things just aren’t accessible to them, I want them to know they’re not as far away as they might seem.
I hope it can encourage anyone dealing with trauma, addiction, fear, or anything else weighing them down to keep going and overcome it. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
More than anything, I hope everyone who watches can take something from it.
I’m grateful to be alive, grateful for this life, and grateful to live it in honor and memory of the friends and family I’ve lost along the way.
Thank you 🙏🏼
