Interesting facts about scammers and meme coins.
Since October 2023, promoting “qualifying cryptoassets” (most transferable fungible tokens, including many meme coins) to UK people is heavily restricted under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA) financial promotions regime (section 21).
• Unauthorised invitations or inducements to deal in/buy such assets are a criminal offence (up to 2 years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine).
• Promotions must be fair, clear and not misleading. Claiming a “guaranteed win,” a specific 10 million market cap outcome, or directing people to “buy the dip” and buy “at least 2% of the volume” is classic material that fails this test. The FCA has specifically flagged social media/meme-style crypto promotions.
• Advising on investments (telling people what/when/how much to buy) can itself be a controlled activity. Doing it without the right FCA authorisation or approval route is problematic.
• Civil consequences: If someone bought because of an unlawful promotion, the agreement can be unenforceable against them and they can recover money paid plus compensation for losses (FSMA provisions). Misrepresentation (Misrepresentation Act 1967), deceit, or unjust enrichment claims are also common routes for losses after crypto promotions that turned out false.

LOL
What hurts most in the meme space isn’t so much the rugs or the losses. It’s the people you actually trusted quietly positioning themselves first, then dumping on everyone else. That one stays with you.

What possessed them? Foreign Sec @Ed_Miliband & chancellor @JohnHealey_MP on a tuk tuk in Thailand at at IMF summit. Seemingly without a care in the world even though British economy is heading for the rocks
Unbelievable.
I genially thought this was AI.
It’s downright embarrassing. Absolutely no self-awareness.
How on Earth have we got to the point where such children can become Chancellor and Foreign Secretary of Great Britain? It’s genuinely shocking.
Trust me, this will not happen in a Restore Britain government. We’ll have true Statesmen in the Cabinet. People who the world will respect and who know how to lead, how to govern and how to put Great Britain and the British people first, not year 10 secondary school pupils.

This photo sums up the modern-day Army. Unarmed, scruffy, politically captured, an afterthought, and very embarrassing. How far we have fallen.

Are you taking the piss? You’re charging 86p in tax on every litre of diesel, that’s about £50 every time I fill up! You’re clearly not cut out to be Prime Minister. Resign.

There HAS to be a $STONKS runner on the Robinhood blockchain… it just makes sense.
We’ve survived the bear market.
We’ve survived the noise.
We’ve survived longer than almost everyone.
We’re the OG.
But a ticker doesn’t create a movement by itself. People do.
If you believe $STONKS deserves to represent this ecosystem, support it. Talk about it. Tell your friends. Bring the energy back.
The next wave doesn’t magically appear.
The community has to create it 🫡

The $STONKS vamps are pretty much dead now, guys.
So now it comes down to the community.
If you’re on the Robinhood train and believe $STONKS deserves to be THE ticker of this ecosystem, it’s time to step up.
Distribution is incredible.
Supply is getting thinner.
The burn mechanism is absolutely smashing it.
Now it’s time to buy up the supply.

UK: Muslim group reports John Cleese to counterterror program for ‘incendiary posts about Muslims and Islam’
The government is likely to take this quite seriously, for to do otherwise might risk enraging the nation’s Muslim population, and that is what they want to avoid doing above all. What, however, did Cleese say that was not true? And that is the problem with all “Islamophobia” initiatives: they make it a crime to tell unwelcome truths.
