The Sussex countryside is beautiful year-round for golf, but there's something special about how our course looks in autumn.
Congratulations to Carolyn Oldham for a fabulous hole in one on the 10th yesterday!
We don't have any details on the shot, the club chosen or whether it was her first or one of many, but does it matter? Look at that joyful face!
Early mornings out with the team.
No bunkers to rake, but that just allows extra time to focus on the rest of the course.
Cross back over the road and the closing stretch starts with three consecutive par 4s that couldn't be more different.
The short 12th, the tight and long dogleg left 13th, and the dogleg right 14th that plays into our widest fairway.
Like many of the holes here, the 18th tee borders the 17th green.
This tight, efficient routing is central to our design: minimal walking between holes means pace of play stays brisk throughout your round.
On Sunday our three new captains drove in before a crowd of members who cheered their balls down the fairway.
Congratulations to our new Men’s Captain Simon Lapthorn, Ladies’ Captain Patricia O’Shea, and Junior Captain Toby Cannon. We hope you all have a fantastic year ahead.
Congratulations to our own George Goddard and Jason Partridge on achieving a Piltdown clean sweep last week.
George became Sussex Professionals Champion for the second year running with rounds of 68 and 67 for a one-shot victory, while Jason took the Senior category!
The heartbeat of our club is absolutely the people, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a convivial membership that creates a warm and distinctive club atmosphere.
A bunkerless course relies on bold and fun shapes and contours to keep the intrigue high.
Ours is full of these quirks, captured here in black and white.
Last Friday, our 2026 Men's Dinner was attended by 63 members, many of whom calling it the best in living memory.
We celebrated our trophy winners, paused to remember absent friends, and enjoyed a superb three-course meal before 40 brillaint minutes of piano, song and comedy.
There's something about a closing par 3 - it ends a round on a note of excitement and possibility.
Good to see ours included by @RobGolfBeer among the best in the UK. Thanks @GolfMonthly!
If you play a morning round here, you'll often reach our brilliant 13th green in under 2 hours, thanks to our 2 balls and foursomes only policy until 11am.

The quaint clubhouse area at @PiltdownGolf - proper countryside charm, everything you need and nothing you don't.
Walking across the road after your round feels a bit like coming home from your own backyard golf course.
Short grass around the greens penalise offline approaches and creates genuine variety in how you play short game shots.
You'll find yourself reaching for 3 woods, 7 irons, and lob wedges rather than settling on the same club.
A testament to our well-designed green complexes.

We've long believed that golf is at its best on a par 68 - where the walk is easy, the course still asks questions, and it never looks long on the card.
Last week's lap around @PiltdownGolf confirmed it again. One par 5, heaps of variety in the par 4s, and not a single bunker anywhere. It's hard to think of a better place for an evening round with a labrador alongside you.
This summer's drought has given the course a different aesthetic than usual, but it's allowed our course to play firm and fast, exactly how heathland golf should be.
The 12th proves our course challenges without bunkers or distance.
An island fairway surrounded by danger forces long hitters to leave the driver in the bag, making the hole play longer than the scorecard indicates with no room for error.
