We were taught that Earth orbits the Sun in a closed circle. In reality, Earth has never returned to the same point in space once in 4.5 billion years.
Right now, the Sun is carrying Earth and every planet around the center of the Milky Way at 230 km/s (828,000 km/h), more than 18,000 kilometers every 80 seconds.
Because the Solar System is tilted 60.2° to the galactic plane and bobs up and down through the galactic disc roughly every 30 million years, the planets trace open 3D corkscrew helices across deep space rather than flat loops.
The last time the Sun stood where it stands today, one Galactic Year (230 million years) ago, the very first dinosaurs were only beginning to appear on Earth. Since forming 4.6 billion years ago, our Sun has completed only 20 laps.

People don't understand Newton's insane IQ. Newton spent two years locked inside his house. His neighbors said he seemed erratic. He barely went outside. If he did it was only to get food. In those two years he invented calculus. Like he literally invented what takes most people years to even learn. He also changed light theory forever. He found white light includes all the colors. And to top it off he started formulating gravity. All within two years. Two years of insane maniacally intense focus on changing the world. This may have been the most important two years in human history.

What is life?
• Dostoevsky: It’s hell.
• Socrates: It’s a test.
• Aristotle: It’s the mind.
• Nietzsche: It’s power.
• Freud: It’s death.
• Marx: It’s the idea.
• Picasso: It’s art.
• Gandhi: It’s love.
• Schopenhauer: It’s suffering.
• Steve Jobs: It’s faith.
• Einstein: It’s knowledge.
• Stephen Hawking: It’s hope.
• Kafka: It’s just the beginning.

The X-ray pattern that revealed the double helix is pure Fourier math.
The layer-line spacing equals 1/pitch. For B-DNA the pitch is 3.4 nm, giving 10 base pairs per turn, so the fourth layer line vanishes because the two strands are offset by 3/8 of a pitch.
Intensity along each layer line is modulated by Bessel functions J_n(2π R r), where n is the order set by the helical symmetry and r is the radius of the backbone. The classic X-shape is the geometric signature of that continuous helix projected into reciprocal space.
One pattern, one transform, the structure of life.
