Are journalists supposed to report the news, or manufacture a narrative to rehabilitate Meghan Markle’s image? And is The Sun working overtime to make sure we all get the memo?
Clemmie Moodie calls it a “thumping vindication.” The Telegraph pushes the “relief and vindication” angle. Camilla Tominey and Tim Stanley debate whether public opinion of Meghan should change. Jonny Dymond at the BBC discusses the vindication narrative, while Roya Nikkhah at The Sunday Times, Chris Ship at ITV and Matt Wilkinson at The Sun amplify the protective-letter narrative and the Met’s confirmation.
The message is unmistakable: we should now understand why Meghan cut contact with her father, and apparently that should change how we view everything else she has done.
But vindication of WHAT, exactly?
Whatever the truth of the allegations against Thomas Markle, which he denies and which remain under investigation, his situation is a separate family matter. If Meghan had reasons to protect her children, that is one issue. It does not erase seven years of public accusations, interviews, documentaries and grievances directed at the Royal Family.
For years, we were given a different account of the estrangement. There were the staged paparazzi photographs, the media cooperation and the private letter that became the subject of a privacy lawsuit. In the 2021 Oprah interview, Meghan spoke about having “lost” her father as part of the cost of becoming a royal. In the Netflix series, Harry said he shouldered the blame because “if Meg wasn’t with me, then her dad would still be her dad.”
Those were the explanations presented to the public.
Now, with new allegations emerging, we are being served a fresh narrative of maternal protection and long-overdue vindication. So why are journalists not pressing harder on the timeline, the earlier explanations and what the public was told at the time?
And why is The Sun working overtime to push this story from allegations against Thomas Markle into a broader rehabilitation of Meghan’s image? Reporting the developments is one thing. Turning them into a redemption arc is quite another.
There is also an uncomfortable question surrounding Meghan’s public advocacy for children’s safety and online privacy. If she was aware of serious allegations involving children from 2018 onwards, how does that timeline sit alongside her public campaigning? That is a legitimate question, not an accusation of wrongdoing.
Most importantly, what does any of this have to do with her treatment of the Royal Family?
The Oprah interview still happened. The Netflix series still happened. The public accusations, the repeated airing of private grievances and the damage to family relationships do not disappear because a disturbing new story has emerged about her father.
You can sympathise with a family estrangement without absolving someone of everything else. You can take allegations seriously without pretending every criticism of Meghan was unjustified.
The journalists pushing this vindication narrative need to explain why a private family matter is being used to reassess an entirely separate public record.
Meghan’s relationship with her father does not rewrite the last eight years. And it certainly does not give her a clean slate.
Sympathy is not vindication. Stop confusing the two.

Talking to my SIL, a detective in AFP, who specialises in cyber crime, he mentioned 4 things.
1. LG changed their phone chargers regularly, and we know we are talking about a phone that is minimum 10 years old, because that’s when TMJ first mentioned it.
2. An LG phone could not back up pics to the cloud.
3. Which Phone carrier did TMSr have in the Philippines ?
4. They can just pull the records and know when that phone has been accessed.
See if the dates match this time around.
What is better than sitting on the sofa on a stormy afternoon, knitting needles clacking and Grease on TV. 😁
This is my all time favourite film and I have watched it so many times, well over 100, I am sure.
I just have to sing along at the top of my voice. It makes me feel like a 12 year old again, which was the age I first watched it.

In the book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, royal biographer Andrew Morton notes that Samantha and Thomas Jr relocated back to Los Angeles to live with their father and his new partner (and future wife) Doria Ragland before Meghan was born. They would have only been young teenagers at the time.
So, Meghan Markle would have us believe that their mother, Roslyn Loveless, who raised them until their early teens following her divorce from Thomas Markle Sr, sent them back to live with the man who she believed to be a child abuser??
And that in 2019, after waiting another almost 40 years, she wrote a letter to the UK Met Police alerting them to these concerns? Not the FBI, not the US authorities - the UK Met Police who initially claimed they couldn’t find the letter?
Nope 👎

Another sobering post.
We need to act NOW!! We cannot delay and let out country slip any further down the route it is going.
MY FORECAST FOR THE UK. A WARNING FROM FRANCE. 🇬🇧
France is the gateway to Britain. Our closest major continental neighbour, a major trading partner and a country through which vast numbers of people and goods pass on their way to the UK.
That makes France a powerful indicator of what could happen here next.
It’s like watching history unfold, but in real time.
Truth be told, I believe France is losing its national identity.
In many of the places I’ve visited, France simply doesn’t feel French anymore.
And I fear that in another ten years, another generation, the changes we’re witnessing could become irreversible.
Britain needs to act NOW.
Not tomorrow. Not next week. NOW.
Minor political disagreements need putting aside because, in my opinion, we’re approaching a different kind of conflict.
Not one fought with conventional weapons, but one involving demographics, birth rates, immigration, borders and national identity.
The future of a country is shaped not just by its history, but by the decisions its people make today.
Secure our borders.
Stop illegal immigration.
Demand political accountability.
Protect our national identity.
The clocks went back an hour today.
I wish we could turn them back twenty years.
Call this my Rasputin post. After everything I’ve witnessed, I am more convinced than ever that Britain is approaching a crossroads.
And the longer we refuse to confront difficult questions, the fewer choices we’ll have.
Apologies for a negative post on a Sunday.
I’m about to board a plane in a storm, but frankly, it’s the storm I see gathering back home that worries me more.
My final message is simple: don’t just read this, shake your head and carry on with your Sunday. Ask questions. Challenge your representatives. Demand answers. Make your voice heard, peacefully and democratically.
Because if we leave the decisions about Britain’s future to everyone but ourselves, we cannot complain when we don’t recognise the country we’ve become.
The time to take responsibility for our future is now.
I’m just the guy who films things and shows you what’s actually happening, it’s up to you to make an informed judgement

Hi everyone. I'm missing lots of friends since I had to open a new account.
Can you please pass this message on? I don't want anyone to think I'm ignoring them. Thanks, L xxxx
"This is coming to thee UK".
Chilling words.
This is a MUST READ: it’s a post from a French Citizen: Brivael Le Pogam, this is the best description of what has occurred in France I have seen, read his words:
Le Pogam: “To every American, and to everyone watching France burn from abroad:
Do not blame the French people for this.
We never asked for it. We never voted for it. And the one time we were clearly asked, we said no.
Here are the numbers your media won't show you.
70% of the French say there are too many immigrants in France today.
79% want a tougher immigration policy.
77% disapprove of the government's record on immigration.
83% want foreign criminals and long-term unemployed foreigners sent home.
And no, it's not just the old. 69% of French 18 to 24 year olds support suspending legal immigration for three years.
This is not a fringe. This is the French people.
In 2005, we were asked if we wanted the European Constitution. 55% voted no. Three years later, our politicians passed the same text under another name, through parliament, without ever asking us again.
That is modern France in one sentence. The people say no. The elites do it anyway.
So who is responsible? The politicians who lied to us. A class of leaders formed in the same schools, the same forums, the same networks, loyal to each other before they are loyal to their nations.
In 2017, at Harvard, Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, bragged about his Young Global Leaders program in four words: "We penetrate the cabinets." He added that it was true in France. Emmanuel Macron was one of his Young Global Leaders.
It's the same project in Brussels with Ursula von der Leyen and in Paris with Macron. Borders treated as an obstacle. Nations treated as relics. The people treated as a problem to be managed.
What you are watching in France is not the French people failing. It is the end of the globalist project, an abject, quasi-communist dream of a world run by unelected planners. It is collapsing everywhere in Europe at once, and the West has to cut this cancer out before it takes the rest of the body with it.
The peoples of Europe don't want this. They never did.
So when you see our town halls burning, don't say "the French chose this."
The French never chose this.
They were forced into it.
Hope that wakes you up…
“This is coming to the UK”.
If you are in the UK you will know that today is not the day to discover a leak in your roof.
We have 2!!!
The drips are not synchronized and it is going to be a very long 24 hours!!
😵💫😵💫😵💫
Finally a Muslim is speaking up.
Thank you. @MasterMaliq
We Muslims need to be honest with ourselves.
Right now, a lot of the world sees us as a problem.
And our attitude isn't helping.
We demand respect, but we don't give any.
We get offended by everything, from a song to a Christmas tree.
We move to other people's countries, then complain they don't live like us.
We lose an argument, and we start cursing.
Then we cry that the world hates Muslims.
The world doesn't hate Islam.
It's tired of us.

I have recently read a small article by a female reporter who is now saying perhaps we have all misjudged Mrs Dumbarton.
If her father is guilty and we don’t know this yet, what on earth does that have to do with all the vile things this odious woman has said and done over the last few years.
Her father’s actions are nothing to do with her actions and she can’t be given a pass for all the things she has done.
Nothing has changed in regard to her.

A long post, but well worth reading with a lot of interesting points.
This is a very long post about the news of the day, publicly made by an attorney on another site who frequently creates updates on H's very compete legal disputes.
It is a very important read and contains many details I had not heard until I read this, it also contains many fresh perspectives.
========
Someone makes an accusation of sexual abuse, and their story sounds very credible—because who wouldn’t believe something like that? Only a monster, right? After all, no one would make such an accusation if it weren’t true. That is what a great many people believe—that such an accusation would not be made if it were not true.
But I have come across the fact that when something is presented in such a way that any criticism against it is viewed as "monstrous," that is precisely when it should be questioned the most.
And when I say "question," I mean that cases like these are precisely the ones that require the most investigation.
Let’s start with something some of us have had to do: moving.
Thomas Markle was living in Rosarito, Mexico. In early May 2025, he officially moved to the Philippines. Together with his son, Thomas Jr., he settled into an apartment in Cebu City, seeking a more affordable cost of living and medical care following the health issues he was already dealing with.
In early 2025, weary of media harassment and seeking a lower cost of living, Thomas decided to permanently leave his home in Mexico and move to the Philippines. Before the trip, he began getting rid of his belongings and packing what remained into four cardboard boxes, which ended up being stored abroad.
That is the story Thomas Jr. is telling. But the way those boxes were moved—and who had access to them—is not only unclear; it is also at the heart of the ongoing legal dispute between the Markle siblings.
Let’s be clear about one thing: Thomas Sr. didn’t send those boxes, Thomas Jr. did. He took care of it; Thomas Sr. was too ill to do so. Didn’t Thomas Jr. check those boxes? It only makes sense to do so—just look at the shipping cost! Imagine spending all that money, only to discover that your father had filled them with candy wrappers.
Now, regarding such a shipment—did no one check the contents of a box as soon as it arrived in the Philippines? I once shipped a box from Spain to Santiago via FedEx... it was incredibly expensive! I had to seal it in the presence of a FedEx representative, and then open it in the presence of a representative from Correos Chile. I had to verify that everything had arrived in good condition and that there were no grounds for a complaint. If Thomas Sr. wanted to transport those boxes—at such a huge financial cost—from Mexico to the Philippines, is it really the case that no one opened them for over a year?
Now, has anyone considered a crucial detail in all of this? It was Thomas Jr. who sent the material. So yes, he does run the risk of going to prison. Under the strict legal framework governing international cybercrimes, an individual who transmits child sexual abuse material across borders can indeed face serious criminal charges, regardless of who originally owned the material.
So, it’s not enough to just say, "Oops! Look, some material turned up." The issue here is that Thomas Jr. sent those boxes; he was the one with access to them; and he is the one who supposedly discovered something inside them—in a storage unit registered in his own name. Therefore, the question arises: didn’t Thomas Jr. check those boxes before sending them to the Philippines?
If he cannot provide a very good explanation, he is in serious trouble. This makes the photograph of Thomas Jr. reporting his father—which has surfaced—highly significant. That also seems strange. Who goes to the trouble of taking photos while reporting a crime like this? Someone trying to create an alibi, perhaps, or looking to absolve themselves of something?
A forensic analysis of file creation and modification dates will be the sole factor in determining whether Thomas Jr. remains in the role of an exemplary citizen or becomes an accused party.
Now, here’s the thing: one of the issues with Thomas Jr. is his claim that he opened those boxes because he was looking for a phone. Consider this: he reportedly stated that he knew there were old mobile phones among his father’s belongings, as Thomas Sr. was a known hoarder of technology and electronic gadgets—a habit stemming from his time working as a television lighting director. He claims that he opened the boxes for the sole purpose of looking for a used mobile phone to give to the father of his Filipina girlfriend, who needed a device.
Interestingly, Thomas Markle Sr. officially retired from Hollywood in 2011
I don’t doubt that a phone from 2011 would still turn on—my Nokia 3310 does. But would it actually work? I had to give up my own Nokia in 2018 because, here in Chile, changes were made to the native GSM/2G network infrastructure, and my SIM card stopped working. It seems Thomas Markle had even older phones... but would they still be functional? Philippines isn’t a developed country, but honestly—isn’t it just being incredibly cheap to gift someone a phone from 2008, or even 2000?
Then, I ran into this issue myself: the battery. Lithium-ion batteries from phones dating back to 2011—if left abandoned in boxes for years—undergo a process of extreme chemical degradation. In the vast majority of cases, they swell, become sulfated, or lose their ability to hold a charge entirely, making it impossible to turn on the device without keeping it permanently plugged into a power source or replacing the battery with a new one. I’m currently frantically searching for a battery for my 2013 Galaxy Note 3 which is the one I inherited in 2021 and use as a media player.
When a mobile phone (such as the aforementioned LG) spends years stored in a cardboard box in a warehouse in the Philippines—a country with extreme humidity and tropical heat—its battery undergoes an accelerated degradation process.
Thomas Jr. alleges that the explicit video appeared on the screen as soon as the device was turned on. In 2011, screens did not feature intelligent auto-play systems upon startup; to view a file, a user had to manually navigate through internal folders or MicroSD cards. And that’s assuming the video app keeps working. Apps often stop working because they are outdated.
Well, Thomas Jr. knew that those boxes contained old cell phones... so, he knew that, yet he didn't check them before packing them up? I did a thorough check of the old cell phones at my place—turning each one on—and sent the ones that didn't work off to be recycled. But Thomas Jr. claims he knew nothing about what was in those boxes, even though he also says he knew they contained an old cell phone... So, did he know or didn't he?
And as for the letter that MM allegedly received... it’s absurd. It’s complete nonsense.
The London Metropolitan Police has no legal power or authority to investigate crimes committed in Rosarito (Mexico) by a U.S. citizen. If anyone had wanted to report Thomas Markle in 2018, the Met would have been the worst place in the world to do so, as they would have had to immediately refer the report to the FBI or the Mexican police (FGR).
MM states that the letter reached the Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) unit. This unit of the Met does not investigate ordinary or international sexual offenses; its sole function is the physical protection of—and the assessment of security threats (such as stalkers or terrorists) against—members of the Royal Family.
If the Met received that letter in 2018, it did not conduct a criminal "investigation" in Mexico. The only action the RaSP could have taken was to classify the letter as a "reputational or security risk" to the new duchess (who had just married in May 2018) and—in a completely irregular manner (which is why they are currently under internal investigation)—show the letter to Meghan to warn her about the impending scandal.
Let this be absolutely clear: an investigation was underway, yet no charges had been filed. According to MM, a letter regarding Thomas Markle—concerning an alleged investigation—was sent to the Met. If MM’s account is accurate, then by handing over a file or letter containing serious accusations made by a foreign national to a third party—in a country other than the one where the person under investigation resides—the police committed a grave violation of UK privacy laws, regardless of the fact that the recipient was the individual’s daughter. This exposes the Metropolitan Police to heavy financial penalties from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and provides a legal basis for Thomas Markle Sr. or his lawyers to file a civil lawsuit against the Met for moral damages, defamation, and the unlawful disclosure of confidential information.
The most significant institutional consequence is the damage to Scotland Yard’s public reputation. The British public and legal analysts are sharply questioning why the Royal Protection Command acted as a private public-relations filter for the Sussexes—concealing a report of a serious crime and handing it over to the family, rather than transparently referring the matter to the appropriate international agencies (such as the FBI).
There are some truly vile people in this world. If you follow the news from Chile, you’ll know there is a massive controversy regarding the reduction of sentences for individuals convicted of sexual offenses against minors. Since March, 56 such convicts—without any formal judicial review—have managed to secure this benefit, sparking criticism from both the opposition and the ruling coalition. I am currently feeling a level of rage and disgust that you cannot even imagine, because these convicted individuals filed legal petitions for the protection of constitutional rights to obtain this benefit. Disgust and rage—I don’t even want to read the news story; I simply cannot bear it, for reasons that go beyond the scope of this space.
However, this accusation against Thomas Markle Sr. is very strange. Even a superficial analysis reveals that the story as we currently know it doesn’t really hold up. Based on my own personal experience, what Thomas Jr. has claimed just doesn’t add up. To me, it makes no sense—because I know what it’s like to send items from one country to another, and I also know what it’s like to own a mobile phone from the 2000s.
And if the story of Thomas Jr. already made no sense, the situation with MM is simply absurd—absurd from start to finish. The narrative regarding the family rift from 2018 has been retroactively altered to align with the current scandal of 2026. And that, I believe, is the key detail. Why has MM done this? What is she aiming to achieve?
Meghan Markle disclosed information regarding the Metropolitan Police because, in her hierarchy of priorities, clearing her reputation in the face of an accusation as monstrous as abandoning her sick father was infinitely more urgent than upholding Scotland Yard’s internal protocols. Much like in 2021—when she failed to anticipate that the head of the Church of England would publicly refute her claims to safeguard the integrity of his institution—she once again assumed that London’s Metropolitan Police would remain silent so as not to fuel the scandal.
This is really ugly.
Can anyone help @RaineyDaynew with her new account.
I think X seems to think she is a bot, but she can't verify herself to prove she isn't.
Any suggestions anyone?

HARRY: TAKE NOTE: THIS is how a REAL prince does a chat show!!
One brother goes on television to champion a global issue. The other never sits on a sofa without making it all about himself.
Last night Prince William became the first royal ever to take a seat on Graham Norton's famous red sofa, and what a brilliant move by the future King it was. The studio audience gasped and cheered as he walked out to join Cate Blanchett, Hannah Waddingham and Robert Irwin, all long-time champions of his Earthshot Prize, for a special edition that airs tonight on BBC One.
He came to talk about the prize, and explained that years of environmental "negativity and doom" had got him down, so he decided "we could do something more powerful and more optimistic" with an awards ceremony that could "talk about urgency and optimism together". This is a mature, focused man who looks outward and sets goals he means to reach: five Earthshots, £1 million for each winner, a personal commitment to the prize until 2030, and next month he will be in Mumbai handing out the awards.
And he was so clearly enjoying himself. He finished the night warm, relaxed and engaging, by every account — without a trace of self-pity.
Consider the manchild. Harry's offering this month has been a MasterClass, Redefining Grief, followed by a GQ interview in which he complained that "some people don't want it to work out", a line his own spokesman then had to insist was "absolutely not intended as a swipe" at his brother. The word salad minister seems able to think only in the simplest terms, and mostly about Harry. Even now he has moved back to Britain, the whinging is CONSTANT.
William is getting on with his life and giving everything he can. Harry, meanwhile, is reportedly sounding out Diana's friends and family about a documentary to mark the 30th anniversary of her death next August. Nothing is confirmed, but mark my words: the man baby will try to make his next few quid out of his mother's memory. Deep down he knows he is irrelevant with nothing left to offer, and the ghastly narcissist he married is loathed globally and will never be accepted by the great British public.
The future King will be laughing on Graham Norton's sofa tonight, engaging the world on a cause larger than himself. His brother will still be selling his grief by subscription.
WAKE UP before it is too late.
Or is it too late already?
