NEW TRAIN PASSENGER RIGHT — SAVE THIS From Sunday, if your train is CANCELLED you will be able to use another participating train operator to complete your journey WITHOUT PAYING AGAIN. You can use an alternative service departing within: ⏰ 2 HOURS BEFORE or ⏰ 2 HOURS AFTER your cancelled train, using a direct or reasonable alternative route. And you DON’T need to download or buy another ticket, show your original ticket. This is a really sensible change. For years I’ve seen passengers caught in the ridiculous situation where their train is cancelled but they are told their perfectly valid ticket can’t be used on another operator. That changes from 20 September. One important point: not every operator is initially covered, so check before boarding. Please share, plenty of passengers won’t know about this new right.
