From Stevenage to Mars. 🔴 Great to welcome the @NASAAdmin to see @ESA's Rosalind Franklin rover, developed with UK industrial leadership and major contributions from international partners, including NASA. A powerful example of global collaboration in space exploration. 🚀

Rosalind's drill system is like no other on Earth. Some rover specs for Mars exploration: 🕳️ Depth: 2 metres. ⚙️ Rods: x3. 🔋 Power: 100 watts. 🔄 Revolutions: 60 per minute. 💪 Strength: Can penetrate surfaces as hard as marble. 👀 Vision: Equipped with an infrared map to study minerals. ⛏️ Dig into it with @esa's #ToMarsAndBack blog: blogs.esa.int/to-mars-and-ba…

⚙️ Drilling deeper into Mars than ever before with the @ESA_ExoMars Rosalind Franklin rover. 🤖 Its drill will dig 2 metres below the surface, where signs of ancient life could be preserved. 👇🧵 For some of the rover's DIY tricks.

Lucky to see some of the planetary parade after sunset last night ~1840 from Guildford, see phone pics - Mars, Jupiter, Venus clearly visible, Saturn too low and cloud near horizon. Humbling to think we’ve been involved in instruments to 5 of the 7 planets on display this week
