*Planet update*
Many of you have been in touch to ask for an update now that the Books Council process to award the money left over from the 2023 tender has been completed. There is still deep concern at the unethical & illogical nature of the Planet funding decision 🧵1/8👇
Hardly ever post on here anymore, but this is happening on Saturday! More detail on Insta & Facebook.
🎟️Tickets here see.tickets/planet26
All welcome!
All ticket proceeds go to our performers and panellists.
Bydd yr holl elw tocyn yn mynd i'n panelwyr a'n perfformwyr.
Mae croeso cynnes i bawb #twlltinircwin
Final bit of a 3-part article for @undodcymru that draws from a 2018 Planet editorial, & the wider evolution of 'post-woke' unity in diversity on the Left, to outline some suggestions for the vital, last few days pre-election, & beyond undod.cymru/en/2026/05/03/ca… (article in English)
Get more context & plenty more caveats in parts 1 undod.cymru/en/2026/04/25/cy… & 2! undod.cymru/en/2026/04/29/un… (all these versions are in English, only the url is in Welsh).

“Pa ffordd fwy effeithiol o ymladd yn erbyn camwybodaeth yr Asgell Dde Eithafol nac adfywio traddodiadau balch Cymru a sefydliadau hunan-ddysg ar gyfer y dosbarth gweithiol, siaradwyr Cymraeg a menywod?”

“What more effective way to fight Far Right disinformation than to conserve and revive Wales’ proud traditions and institutions of self-education for the working-class, Welsh speakers and women?”

Part 2 of a 3-part article for @undodcymru that draws on embryonic ideas in a 2018 Planet editorial, plus left-wing debate since then, to give thoughts on the urgency to bolster 'post-woke' notions of unity in diversity in Senedd election campaigning...

“Mae’r Dde yn elwa ar sefyllfa lle nad yw’r rhan fwyaf o bobl yn ymwybodol bod pethau wedi newid ers yr hyn a elwir ‘Peak Woke’ ac ar ben hynny maent yn manteisio ar yr ystrydeb gwrthun o’r drafodaeth honno”
Emily Trahair ar botential “post-woke” 🙌

Many thanks to @undodcymru for the invite to write a 3-part article (partly drawing on a 2018 Planet editorial) to suggest ways to challenge the Far Right. Check out all the Undod articles-vital reading in the lead up to #Senedd26 by Planet alumni!

Mae hwn yn ddarn arbennig gan Emily wrth edrych nôl ar olygyddol hynod ganddi yn 2018 oedd wedi adnabod y tueddiadau oedd am greu gymaint o drybeini i’r mudiad cenedlaethol, gan gynnwys undod.
Darllen hanfodol, wrth feddwl am y ffordd ymlaen dros y wythnosau a blynyddoedd nesa.
“Dinistriodd neoryddfrydiaeth ein gallu i feddwl am ein hunain yn gyfangorff cymunedol, yn hytrach nag unigolion yn cystadlu ag eraill.”
Emily Trahair, golygydd @Planet_TWI sydd, yn y cyntaf o dri darn, yn dychmygu undod “ôl-woke” trwy edrych am y nôl 🔥 undod.cymru/cy/2026/04/25/cy…

“Neoliberalism destroyed the ability to think of ourselves collectively as a society, rather as individuals in competition with others.”
Emily Trahair, Editor of @Planet_TWI, in the first of three instalments looks back to imagine a “post-woke” unity 🔥 undod.cymru/en/2026/04/25/cy…
Still processing ideas generated from Saturday's Planet event at Y Cwps. A very morale-boosting gathering for dark times.
It really did felt like an issue of the magazine come alive, complete with 'Letters to the editor' (aka a very stimulating audience Q & A). 🧵1/5👇
In the absence of a visual arts presentation, the next best thing was a last-minute homage to the Welsh Lady imagery of some of our favourite Welsh artists: Ruth Jen, Seren Morgan Jones, Meinir Mathias & Kathryn Campbell Dodd via the Rebecca Riots & more recent activism 🧵4/5👇
Please bring your cash!
During the event a bucket will be passed around to support the vital work of Medical Aid for Palestinians, Aberaid, and Llanelli Multicultural Network 🕊️
(All ticket proceeds will go to our panellists and performers.)

Introducing our musician – Owen Shiers (Cynefin)
The Cynefin project is the brainchild of Owen Shiers. Owen aims to give voice to Ceredigion's rich heritage & has uncovered old stories, poems & songs, breathing new life into them 🧵1/6👇
Derbyniodd Cynefin tri enwebiad yng Ngwobrau Gwerin Cymru 2023. Mae'r albwm newydd 'Shimli', yn rhoi cipolwg unigryw ar ddiwylliant y gorffennol, wrth hefyd trafod yr heriau cyfoes sy'n gwynebu cefn gwlad a chodi cwestiynau o gylch ein hanhwylder modern o ddatgysylltu 🧵5/6👇
