I've seen some shocking neglect & cruelty just by watching. A woman with Downs was in my GP surgery had same birth year as me so I imagine her parents were gone or too elderly to care for her. She had 2 carers with her she sat in the waiting room saying hello & talking the carers never looked up from their phones & completely ignored her. I see her regularly in Tescos 2 carers on their phones ignoring her as she traipses behind them. And they ignore her as they put things in the trolley. And I think I pay for those bastards to look at Tik Tok videos. I see this every day with 'carers' on the bus in the supermarket, Drs - I dont see a lot of caring.
