The loss of childrens’ liberty to walk through and play in streets is one of the great cultural changes in the last 100 years - slow, almost unremarked upon but profound nevertheless

This is great news, but we need MORE! London has 511 school streets (according to mayor) but that's only a quarter of all primary schools, and not the ones on busy streets. All kids should be able to get to school without being exposed to up to 5x normal levels of air pollution.
This year, cars will be banished from streets around 168 schools in the #Paris area—students and parents can access them on foot or by bicycle.

🚸 Children in Wales are being welcomed back to school this week. If you work in a school, why not start the new term by giving children plenty of opportunities to play throughout the school day. Check out our Play friendly school guidance👉 playwales.org.uk/eng/publica…

Only 27% of today's children regularly play out, far fewer than their parents and grandparents did when they were young. Free play outside has a huge positive impact on children's physical and mental wellbeing. That's why we're calling for a #SummerOfPlay!

🗣 Spread the word – there’s still time for children and young people to enjoy free Summer of Fun activities in their local area 🌳🏏🧩 Events are taking place across Wales until the end of September. Check with your local authority for more information. #SummerOfFun
