SpaceX cut government space-launch costs by 90%. Starlink delivers better connectivity for less. Taxpayers benefit.
Socialist response: “Defund Musk - nationalize Starlink and SpaceX.”
American response: Private companies stay private. Nationalizing ends innovation.
Musk’s response: "Stealing companies is a serious crime. Prison for Reich."

Dude is entitled to grow his hair and use whatever pronouns he wants.
Byron Donalds is entitled to ignore cosmetic changes and use biology-based pronouns like the last 10,000 years of civilization.
Both are exercising basic freedom, which is grand!

Those who became "the 1%" by creating systems that deliver what we want overnight, help us communicate, and produce medicines are treated as the problem.
The people who steal those packages and force stores to lock up basic products are treated as victims.
Are businesspeople who make life better really our enemies?

Hitler's Eagle’s Nest retreat was built in 1937-1938 and officially inaugurated on Hitler's 50th birthday in 1939.
It was extensively damaged by fire today, October 24, 2026, "largely destroyed".
If possible, it's worth keeping and restoring - as a warning against all variants of Socialism, whether National Socialist or International Socialist.

A mother four weeks after C-section was lured with her new baby to a Detroit home, by relatives of the baby’s father. The three women calling her claimed they wanted to see the newborn.
On arrival, those who invited the mother ambushed her. The baby was thrown from the stroller, resulting in a swollen eye and bruising. The mother was beaten for 10 minutes, with part of the attack on video. Both were hospitalized. No motive has been stated.
What kind of person considers this acceptable for any reason?

I watched two young bucks for half an hour in the yard last night, better than most streaming services.
For the first few minutes the smaller one (“Smalls”) methodically licked the bigger one’s face and neck. Classic grooming: parasites in the hard-to-reach spots plus a little status reinforcement. Bigs was clearly the higher-ranking of the two.
Then not-so-distant coyotes yipped. Both deer bolted and took cover against the house, where anything approaching would have to come from one direction. They stayed tense until the noise faded.
Once they relaxed, the dominance games started. Circling, feints, a couple of antler touches. Smalls actually scored a solid hit; Bigs jumped like he’d been poked and immediately pushed back harder. They locked up a few times.
A fox wandered in (photo from a few nights earlier, same fox, same yard; lighting was too poor for a clean fox pic during this encounter). The bucks didn’t care that adult deer aren’t on the menu. They faced him: tails up, stomping, snorting, side-by-side and ready to charge. The fox wisely left.
After that the sparring got more serious. Bigs used his size to twist and shove until Smalls went down enough times to satisfy both. Hierarchy reasserted, they eventually walked off in the same direction, almost but not quite together.
I love live entertainment.

Gas prices are high.
Let's sit the election out so the party that blocks pipelines, orders refineries shut down, and wants carbon taxes to price fuel out of reach for most people will win.
Oh, wait. Could that backfire?

UK governments are taking down national flags🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴 that citizens put up, while pretending everything is okay.
A North Somerset Council (UK) spokesperson said they are "proud to fly the Union flag ... however, this pride should be shown in ways that are respectful and safe."
If flying your country's flag in your own country is disrespectful or unsafe, isn't the solution is to remove those who object instead of removing the flag?

With a GOP House, Senate, and White House, we had zero Border Patrol releases of migrants for 16 months.
Vote Democrat or even stay home, and our President could be forced to admit these foreigners, without screening.
Better they contribute to their own countries.

Reposting - accidentally deleted. Managing problem relatives is worth talking about:
I have few fears and only one superstition. I almost never say my oldest brother’s name. My kids grew up knowing little more than that he existed and that they should call 911, then me, if he ever appeared. They didn’t get the rest until after another brother’s funeral three years ago.
They wanted to go. I warned them it would be ugly. Over breakfast I told my daughter to leave her own kids at the hotel and to sit between me and my wife. My oldest asked how much of the caution was just old childhood friction. I said we’d talk after the service. My brother did not disappoint. He recited, from memory, their full names, phone numbers, jobs, addresses, and the appearance of the homes and children of every one of my kids, all in different states. He knew which hotel my daughter was in, no threats, just disquieting. Then his eulogy - soft, never a raised voice or a swear word, still frightening enough that the minister later handed back the honorarium and said he wanted nothing from that service remaining in his church.
At lunch my kids asked why I hadn’t warned them with specifics and what he had been like as a child. I have no pleasant memories of him at all. I tried three of the least bad stories. The first began: “For my sixth birthday our parents gave me a kitten. I named her Snowball. She lasted a month.” They stopped me after a few sentences. My wife, who had already heard enough of the stories from my mother, kept naming examples and then catching herself: “Wait, no, not that one either.”
My kids understand now why they never knew him or any details. They started referring to him as Uncle Hannibal. He is more than a mindless movie slasher. He is a sharp, experienced sadist who moved from direct harm to mostly getting other people to do bad things to themselves.
I am done managing that problem sibling. I will no longer treat his name like a spell.

NY Times is cheering for Ukraine to harm America and, more important to them, to harm Trump.
These globalists prioritize corporate profits and Ukraine's interests over ours - in the hope of gaining political advantage.
Trump is not running again.
Why not accept irreversible facts on the ground, save lives, and settle for slightly lower war profits?

In 1903, a New York Times editorial “Flying Machines Which Do Not Fly” predicted 1–10 million years for men to build a flying machine.
69 days later, the Wright Brothers flew.
123 years later, Elon flew, Jetson's style.

Five years ago today (October 21, 2021, the movie Rust), Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger on what he claims he thought was an unloaded revolver and fired a live round, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.
Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter, case dismissed because prosecutors and police deliberately withheld evidence. The armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
As they warned in Team America, no one can out-act Alec Baldwin.

A dog attacked and killed a 4 y/o boy in Louisa, VA, on Sunday.
Armed Deputies stopped the continuing attack, and the boy was evacuated by helicopter, too late.
I love dogs, and I never mentioned the breed, but everyone will guess:
For a harmless bite, we guess chihuahua.
For a sustained attack, we guess the pit bull family.
And, yes, it was an American Bully. Is there anything we should do about this pattern?

I watched Supergirl (2026) as a captive audience for the airline movie - curiosity with no obvious alternative.
Milly Alcock as Kara is as close as this comes to a reason anyone might watch it, if they want an unlikable female antihero.
Add a thin plot (vulnerable orphan Ruthye seeking revenge and villain poisons Kara's dog) and an unearned ending where Kara goes from a drunk who doesn't care about anyone to a drunk who helps her new sidekick. I finished it hoping to find some gem of creativity to help me in writing my novel, but only found warnings to write well.
I'm guessing that given a choice between this movie and a toenail fungus documentary, most men who watched Supergirl will tell you they made the wrong pick.
