Ms. Sripriya Ranganathan, Secy (CPV & OIA), visited the Protector of Emigrants office, Bengaluru. She reviewed the functioning of the office. PoEB briefed her about the various initiatives being undertaken to create awareness and strengthen legal, safe and transparent emigration.
PoE Bengaluru, Goutam Sharma, recently met with RPO Goa, Shri Nijo Varghese. A key focus of their discussion was collaborating on new ways to increase awareness among ECR (Emigration Check Required) category passport holders, ensuring safer and more informed overseas migration.
📢 Great news for Goan youth! In the meeting, Mr. Sharma also discussed an upcoming Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) center being established in Goa. This will train & prepare local youth heading abroad for employment. ✈️💼 (2/2)
During his recent visit to Goa, PoE Bengaluru Mr. Goutam Sharma called upon the Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Dr. V. Candavelou. As Goa falls under PoE Bengaluru's jurisdiction, Mr. Sharma apprised him of the office operations & key provisions of the Emigration Act, 1983. (1/2)

JS (OE) & PGE chaired the 23rd Open House session. Issues were deliberated with the registered Recruiting Agents, POEs and officials of the Division. Most of the issues were resolved during the session. The date of the 24th Open House session would be announced in due course.

It has come to the notice of the Ministry that certain individuals on social media platforms are making posts suggesting that they are advising MEA on policy related matters including on trade, migration and other issues. Further, these handles are also offering paid advice/sessions on how to work with MEA. These individuals have no connection to the Ministry and the Ministry urges all to be careful against such fraudulent posts on social media platforms.
