On Sunday, October 25th, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Baby Max, just a few months shy of his 18th birthday. My heart is absolutely shattered. 💔🐾 I adopted Max from a shelter when he was just 11 months old, during one of the darkest periods of my life. I thought I was rescuing him, but in so many ways, he was the one who rescued me. He gave me unconditional love, comfort, and a reason to keep going when I needed it most. For nearly 17 years, he was my constant, my safe place, my little shadow, and most importantly, my soul dog. He was there through so many chapters of my life, loving me through all of them. My husband @spankchief and I are both devastated. I'm grateful to still have our sweet Charlie to hold a little tighter as we navigate this heartbreak together. The hardest part is that the little soul who comforted me through my darkest moments is the very one I need to comfort me now. And he's no longer here for me to hold. Almost 18 years wasn't nearly enough. A hundred years wouldn't have been enough. Forever my baby. Forever my soul dog. Forever a part of me. ❤️🐾🌈
