Halfway through climbing a mountain called “The Monkey”, black clouds suddenly wrapped him and the mountain tightly, and heavy rain poured down.This is the most uncontrollable and thrilling part of outdoor extreme sports.He stood on the rock wall, like a stone being drenched by the rain, feeling that he was gradually losing temperature. He stretched out his hand to find a reliable rock point. He continued to rise. In this pressure from nature, he found true freedom. This is probably why Wang Yibo is fascinated by these sports: people will establish a very specific relationship with own body. A body that remembers every instance of losing control, feeling flustered, or making a mistake, but also remembers how a person adjusts, starts again, and surpasses himself. For him, attention and applause are both gains and personal emotional experiences. ___ Of course, there was also a small loss of control at the cover shooting scene. The milky white ice cream that was used as a filming prop melted too quickly. Wang Yibo still held it calmly, and the melted cream flowed down from his fingers. The car returned to the track after some repairs, and he set a new personal fastest lap on the still slippery road. ___ In the next day's race, he set off in close entanglement with more than 30 cars, overtaking continuously from 17th to 11th place, but was hit by a mistake from the rear car and retired with damage. In 2019, he participated in a motorcycle race as a professional driver for the first time. He prepared with the same intense dedication he brings to everything he does, full of anticipation. Beyond the flashbulbs of Paris Fashion Week, he ventured once more into the wilderness to film the second season of "Exploring The Unknown", pushing himself to the absolute limit against sheer rock faces and at dizzying heights. We met him in Shanghai this September, just days before the Shanghai round of the China GT Championship, on the eve of yet another high-speed challenge. Wang Yibo was in no rush to seek out the camera; instead, he took a moment to simply observe. ___ On an afternoon in September in Shanghai, during a cover shoot for "Fantastic Man" Wang Yibo got a DV, he lowered his head to adjust, and quickly raised it, looking around for a scene to capture. In the end, he chose a somewhat special angle: lean down and shoot from the lowest point of the grass. It was originally just a prop for posing, but he really used it. Between sets, the staff stepped forward to help him organize the details of his clothes. He looked into the distance with quiet eyes, as if he was silently organizing his thoughts and rhythm. As long as the camera is turned on, he can instantly cut into the best condition. This is a kind of intuition, and it's also the result of high-intensity vocational training all year round. He knows very well how to show himself in front of the camera, and he also knows to what extent a gesture is just right. Therefore, there is no extra movement or even extra body amplitude.
